William feels suffocated. He had on a new dress robes that his mother specifically made tailored for this event. He hated it. Back in Scandinavia, he never had to attend such parties, the only consolation though is that he can spend time with his neighbor Marlene McKinnon.
But today seems to be his unlucky day. Liam, the blonde's brother told him that the girl was sick. Now, William has to endure the whole affair bored beyond his wits. The other children seems friendly enough but then he was never that sociable especially since he still has that funny accent as it has only been a year since they moved to Britain and live in the Nott's ancestral house.
A flash of blonde hair caught his gaze and he immediately look to see who it might be. Who knows maybe Marlene was just playing a prank on him and asked his older brother's help. But he was wrong, as soon as the girl with honey-colored locks looked at his direction, William knew it was another young witch. She was a beauty, that was for sure but William doesn't care about that.
He lost interest once again and let the party dwindle on and on. Soon, his father called him to a corner where the older Nott was surrounded by an aristocratic and haughty looking man. "This is my son William." His father introduced him as soon as he's within hearing range. The other man just nodded. "Six years old? He's the same age as my second daughter who's probably out there with her cousins. Come meet my youngest daughter though."
William didn't notice right away but when he stood finally by his father side, he saw the blonde girl earlier peeping behind her own father. She looks shy but there's an almost teasing smile on her face as she bat her long lashes at him.
William's face remained impassive but he held out a hand. "William Nott. Pleased to meet you." He waited for the girl to emerge from her cover. "I'm Narcissa Black." The two older men just observed them with interest and amusement in their eyes.
