Peace

The day was a bad one; no one could deny-
A horrid old day that could make grown men cry.
If something could go wrong, it happened that day
No comfort could come from what people could say

No peace or respite was found anywhere
only wicked demands and a growing despair.
Raph heaved out a sigh, tension deep in his skin
as moments to breathe were deemed as dark sin

When things got too much and the pressure too much
A brother called him with a simple touch
Pulled out away from the chaos of life
Into the air, into respite

Up to the rooftops and into the sky-
A sweet breath away from the birds that would fly
up to the solace of night sky and stars,
shedding the bindings of old, aching scars.

Legs hanging down into freedom and space,
away from the daily, unending rat race.
The sky stretched above them, the stars twinkled bright-
Just a moment of peace to make things alright.

NB: Written for the one I love most who has been having a terrible time. I hope you find the peace you deserve!
