She Doesn't Cry

Thalia Grace is a daughter of Zues, punked-out, eternally almost sixteen, and a known Green Day fan. She was known for her strength, her temper, and her prowness in battle. She was not known as the girl who hid herself away in her silvery Huntress tent with tears rolling down her cheeks.

But there she was, doing just that. Her electric blue eyes were blood-shot and puffy, her thick black eyeliner smeared down her cheeks like black paths for the salty drops carving down her moonlit cheeks. In her hand she clutched a letter she'd found in the pocket of her old black button-covered jacket from before she'd joined the immortal hunt.

The handwriting was a messy scrawl, as if the hand that wrote it was shaking, and in several places were discolored spots where tears had distorted the ink. It was curled at the corners and wrinkled for folding and crumpling, but Thalia didn't mind its imperfections. Maybe those had even made it better. No, what made it really matter to the battle-hardened Luitenent of Artemis were the sloppily written words.

Thalia. Oh gods, Thalia, I don't know what I'm doing what I've done. I'm sorry, Thals. I'm sorry I broke every promise I ever made. I'm sorry I'm writing this too late for change. I'm sorry… I'm sorry I was too late. I'm sorry I never opened my eyes. I'm sorry I'm under HIS control, instead of standing by your side, holding one of your hands. If I had known…

I'm sorry I'm not your family anymore, if I ever really was. I'm sorry he got me under his heel. I'm sorry I can't go back, no matter how much I suddenly wish I could. I'm so sorry I wrote this… and lastly…

I'm sorry I loved you, and never did anything about it. I love you, Thalia Grace. I love you and I'm sorry.

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. He was her best friend. He'd saved her back so many times she'd lost count. She'd saved his even more. He was her only family, besides a certain spunky little blonde. He was HERS. She was HIS. Only… he'd left… right?

Thalia Grace sobbed out dry heaves, not bothering to even wipe the black smears from her pale cheeks anymore, because she'd come to a realization. He hadn't ever left her, not really. She'd left him. By dying and becoming the hand that shoved him straight over the edge, into the enemies hands.

All his promises- broken.

All those lives- lost.

All her heart- GONE.

She'd joined the hunters because of him, though she'd never tell Lady Artemis or any other person that. Because she knew HE was the ONLY one she'd ever love. He was. The traitor.

No, Thalia Grace, daughter of Zues and all those things listed before, wasn't known for crying. She didn't cry for anyone. She'd never, ever cry.

Except for Luke.
