It could be rationalized, every thing could be explained logically and all the seemingly 'silly' or 'not-quite-right' events that had taken place would suddenly make perfect sense. That was exactly what she was trying to do at that very moment.
It was perfectly rational that she had mistaken their hair; after all they both had darker colored hair. It sounded weak, even to her own mind. It was slightly irrational that she missed the fact that the mistaken's hair was defiantly longer then the one that had been her intended target but her mind discarded that fact in favor of maintaining the shaky ground of faux logic.
Downing a shot of sake Sakura welcomed the pleasant tingling sensation it left in its wake. Casting her gaze blearily around the room she took in the sights. People with ruddily tinged cheeks laughing, having fun. Scanning the building further she noticed a few loners nursing their drinks in solitude staring off at nothing in particular. One caught her eye, before her sluggish mind could process what was happening her body had acted and was carrying her across the floor to him with little grace. He inclined his head to her slightly in way of greeting when she seated herself by him.
It was highly logical that she would want to congratulate her teammate for returning to them…with a kiss, albeit a sloppy kiss do to the alcohol that had been pounding it's way through her veins.
"Sakura?" Upon parting for a brief second he questioned her. Giving a little shake of her head she wrapped her arms around his neck idly toying with his hair waiting to see what he would do. Under her drunken haze she didn't listen to the little voice in her head that said Sasuke would never, under any circumstance return her kiss let alone initiate one. What she did do was kiss him all the more fervently while taking the tie out of his hair.
If she was completely honest with herself she would admit that she knew that it wasn't Sasuke. If she was even more truthful she would confesses knowing that who she had virtually assaulted with her lips was Neji. That maybe, just maybe, she no longer had a crush on Sasuke. But then who really needed that much truth?
I've always wanted to write a NejiSakura fan fiction and now I did. I swear I write things in my sleep, I look into my writing folder and things are mysteriously there and I have no recollection of writing them. Tis very creepy. –Cloey Marie-
