Dean was zoning out as he and Sam listened to Mick's cockney cadence over the phone, imparting another of the Men of Letters' secrets.
In contrast to Dean who was three nods away from faceplanting into the table, Sam was rapt with fascinated attention, practically salivating at Mick's words.
So, Leonardo Da Vinci had been a Man of Letters, Florence Chapter House in the 15th century. His particular area of expertise had been witches and witchcraft, particularly as he'd narrowly avoided being accused of it several times, and there was one witch in particular that he was famously associated with.

According to Mick, this shady lady had been responsible for all sorts of menace and mayhem back in the day; plagues, at least three battles, and no end of natural disasters were all attributed to her. She was known to use her mysterious beauty for nefarious advantage, and the Italian Men of Letters had discovered that she was moving back and forth through time to ensure her immortality.
Da Vinci had even painted a picture of her, based on contemporary descriptions, to assist the Men of Letters in their attempts to locate her.
Her name was Mona Lisa.

Upon Mick's revelation, Dean finally zoned back into the conversation.
"Hey Mick, so you say this witch moves back and forth through time?"
"Yeah," Mick replied; "we think she's been here, in the 21st century recently, hence the sudden interest."
"Right," Dean nodded.
"But she could be back in the 15th century by now," added Mick despondently; "no bloody idea!"
Dean thought back to that Diner in Chicago three weeks ago, and the cute Italian waitress, Mona. The one he'd met after she got off shift, the one who …
He smirked.
That'll be the secret behind her enigmatic smile then!
