Destiny
As I walked down the alley I shivered and pulled my jacket closer to me. Who knew that it could get so cold at night in the Colorado Mountains? There was no sound but the tap of my sneakers on the pavement as I walked towards my apartment. Another late night at the library and another lonely night at my place. I jumped as a bottle broke to my right. As I looked around, I concluded that it must have been just a rat. There was no one else around! I was alone, like always.
I quickened my pace though and practically ran to my apartment. I sighed as I locked the door and leaned against it. Safe and sound in my own little oasis. I smiled slightly to myself as I looked at my apartment. It was small, but cute. There were bookshelves practically everywhere. All my books had something to do with vampires. I admit, I'm obsessed, but what harm is it to live in your own little dream world? I went to my bathroom and started a strawberry scented bubble bath. Just the thing I needed to unwind and calm down. I smiled as the warm water engulfed me. I closed my eyes in bliss and lay there in the bubbles.
When I opened my eyes, I saw a shadow. Shooting up out of the tub, I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around me. I ran to my room and slid on some clothes. Grabbing my baseball bat, I walked silently through my apartment, checking every nook and cranny. Though I found nothing, I was still uneasy.
Snap out of it Cassie! You're doing this to yourself! I chided myself.
As I turned back to go into my room, something wrapped around my waist. I started to scream and a hand went across my mouth. I struggled against the person but they were much too strong, I couldn't break free. Tears rolled down my face as the person put his lips to my neck.
"I shall free you, my little spitfire, if you promise not to scream." The person said, and I came to the conclusion that it was a man.
Hesitantly, I nodded and he released my mouth. He turned me around slowly to face him. I almost gasped as I saw him. His hair was a fiery red, his skin pale and his eyes a brilliant blue. He smirked at me and kissed my forehead.
"W-why are you here? How did you get in here?" I asked, trying to recover from his cold lips.
"I am here to help you fulfill your dream, my dear Cassandra Antara. You love vampires yes? And you wish to join them and find that passion that they hold?" he asked me, pulling me against him.
"How do you know my name?" I asked breathlessly.
He chuckled softly.
"I know everything about you, Cassie. I'm your biggest fan. I've watched you from the day that you turned sixteen. Your destiny is to become a vampire, to become mine." He said possessively.
I melted at the way he said my name. So passionately, so possessively. I looked up at him. Being his wouldn't be too bad. He put his lips to my neck once again.
"All you have to do, is say yes." He whispered against my skin.
I felt his teeth at my neck and I made a snap decision. I wanted to be able to love, to feel.
"Yes." I whispered and his teeth sunk into my neck.
I smiled as I drifted into sweet darkness. The last thing I remember before I passed out was him holding me close in his arms.
"When you wake, I'll be here. I'll never leave you my love. It is, your destiny." He said and then, darkness.
