The Fall of Colossus

by Starsinger

Well, we knew it was going to happen one day. Nope, still don't own them.

Peter froze, he was being stalked, he just didn't know where. Lockheed wasn't helping much, he was hiding. He peered over the top of the couch, he thought he would be safe in his own home, so much for wishful thinking.

He heard a noise behind him, and moved to a better vantage point. The couch was not an ideal hiding place, maybe he could try the fort. He looked up at the fort in front of him. The cushions provided a little cover, but not much. He looked up at Lockheed who shrugged as if to say, "You got yourself into this mess, you can get yourself out."

Peter watched as the dragon disappeared with a squawk, a hand reaching out to grab him by the tail. Peter had faced many enemies: the Marauders, the Brood, even Magneto with less trepidation than he did facing this opponent. The injuries and indignities he had suffered at their hands would be as nothing if he was caught. He raised up a little to see if he could spot them, when he was tackled from behind, toppling over like the giant that he was.

Kitty entered the suite, it had been a long day, even for a Saturday. She ended up minding those in Saturday detention before starting maintenance on the school's computer. She stopped in the entrance, the chaos left her speechless. Cushions and toys strewn everywhere, and in the midst of it all Peter lay prone. Peter's eyes popped open as he heard a chuckle from the doorway, "The Mighty Colossus, I pictured your demise at the hand of Magneto, but I hadn't seen it at the hands of a pair of three year olds!"

The twins climbed off their father Lockheed firmly tucked into Ilyana's elbow, and went running toward Kitty, "Mommy, Mommy," they called. She swept Moira up into her arms giving her a big kiss as Ilyana was caught by Peter, who proceeded to tickle her. Lockheed was mercifully released as she giggled helplessly.

"Who's been conquered now?" he asked, grabbing his wife and other daughter and wrestled them all to the ground. The twins were much easier to pin than their mother. He ended holding them in one arm as he straddled her waist, making it impossible to move without phasing. He prevented that by tickling her ribs, she laughed helplessly as he made free with her person. He finally relented and let her up, "Well," he asked.

"Yep, Storm is coming over to mind the twins tonight, we'll have the night to ourselves," she purred. He laughed as the girls ran around the room, in his wildest dreams, he had never thought that this could happen. He couldn't be happier.

Okay, short, sweet, to the point, thanks to George for this idea!
