Lucy slowly got out of bed. It had been a tiring evening; there was a last minute job that she couldn't turn down. Her sore muscles now regretted it.

She pulled on a shirt and some shorts, wincing as the cold air hit her skin. Lucy looked longingly at the comfy onesie she had left on her bed. The blankets were messy, but she was too tired to bother with them.

Instead of spending an hour on makeup and hair, Lucy combed her hair into a messy bun, and didn't touch the dark circles under her eyes. She only went through what needed to be done, brushing her teeth and washing her face.

She usually walked to the guild, but as she took a step, her thighs burned like fire. She managed to drag herself down the stairs and called a cab.

"Fine day out, huh miss?" The cab driver exclaimed cheerfully. "Reminds me of when I was a child..."

Lucy tuned him out. She leaned against the soft seat, her last thought was about how comfy it was...

"Lucy!" Lucy opened her eyes. Natsu was on fire, literally, and reaching a hand out to her. She was still in the cab.

"Ahh!" Lucy screamed, scooting into the back of the cab. The friendly driver had fled. I dont blame him, Lucy thought.

"Turn off your fire!" Lucy saw Lisanna appear and yell at Natsu. A second later, Natsu was fire free and smoke was rising from his skin. He cocked his head to the side and gave Lucy a mischievous grin.

"Luce, you look awful today," Natsu reached a hand out to her.

Lucy took his hand reproachfully. His skin was hot to the touch, his large fingers engulfing her tiny hand. "That's because of the job last night, you idiot," She groaned as she got out of the car.

He continued holding her hand for a moment, before letting his drop to his side. "Let's go inside then, Luce."

Lucy limped inside the guild, before settling herself into a stool at the bar. Mirajane was cheerfully pouring drinks for the guild members.

"What would you like today, Lucy?" Mira smiled, her wide eyes twinkling. Lucy stared at her almost reproachfully for a moment. Mira always looked perfect, with her white curls flowing over her shoulders, her clear, pale skin, and her dark blue eyes. Lisanna was like a younger version of her, the short pixie cut was the only difference.

"Anything warm," Lucy groaned, resting her head on the counter.

"Love problems?" Mirajane joked, pouring a cup of steaming tea for Lucy.

"I wish," Lucy muttered, wrapping her fingers around the cinnamon tea. The spicy smell engulfed her.

Mira smiled. "So you and Natsu are fine?"

Lucy almost spat out her tea. "We aren't together! What makes you think that? He's my best friend, that's all."

Mira traced the gleaming countertop dreamily. "I ship it..."

Lucy glanced over at Natsu. It would be lying to say that she had never felt affection towards him. His tousled pink curls and muscles made him kind of hot, actually. But he was her best friend, and that was good enough.

Especially because he was making farting noises right now.

Lucy giggled. Definately not.
