The Junkyard was dark and empty. The Jellicle gathering had been a few months ago, and now all the Jellicles had gone home, either to their human's houses or their haunts around the city.

The tire that had so joyously risen to the heavens to deliver Grizabella to her new life, was now silent and still. The small area of open ground where many Jellicles had danced and sung was now barren, only a few loose bits of light refuse blowing across it.

A car rumbled down the street, it's lights highlighting the area as it did preceding the ball, but no cat was caught sneaking across the space.

Just as the car passed, two sets of eyes were highlighted in the oven. When the area turned dark again, two forms seemed to flow out of the shadows in perfect sync. They were the caretakers of the area, keeping it clean and safe.

Old Deuteronomy had once held this job, however, he'd grown too old. He now remained at the Vicarage and kept watch over his town. The two young adults looked over the area with silent calm. They needed no words, knowing each other so well they could almost read the other's thoughts. They looked identical, so much that many could not tell which was the queen and which was the tom.

Many of the Jellicles were nervous around them, due to their peculiar habit of moving in sync, but that was part of their fun. They seemed like they were unapproachable to all who saw them. Barely ever, did a smile touch their lips around others.

The queen moved forward, picking up small objects strewn across the 'dance floor'. She smiled as she looked around, remembering the music and the dancing.

The tom watched her, also smiling, and turned to climb on top of the oven, a good viewpoint incase of any unwanted visitors. He sat down and seemed to drift off to sleep.

Shortly thereafter, the queen finished her rounds and climbed on the car boot, her signal to the tom that all was finished. The tom slowly climbed down from the oven and went to the center of the area, looking around and slowly stretching.

The queen came down and joined him, the two starting to dance to music that only Jellicles could hear.

As the moon came out from the clouds, a slight glimmer could be seen from the tunnel nearby. Another set of look-a-likes were watching the dancers. "See Teazah, toldja they were here." The tom whispered.

The queen, for once, was silent as she watched the dance in awe, "Oi though' they jist disappeared." She breathed after a short while.

The two fell silent as the dance continued. When it finished, both dancers looked at each other and smiled, then turned sly glances to the tunnel.

The tunnel let out an uncharacteristic squeal and gasp, then a few claw on metal sounds, before falling silent again. The twins looked at each other again before grinning and letting out smoky chuckles.

As the clouds began to once again cover the moon, the two disappeared into the shadows, silence once again falling upon the Junkyard.
