Prologue
"Specimen 6524"
A soft squeak could be heard in a massive bubbling glass tank.
"Specimen 6524 acknowledge"
Steele shaded eyes fluttered open and narrowed into slits before snapping open and looking around the room frantically to try and take in the new surroundings.
A narrow blue liquid filled tank bubbled patiently over his head though his vision was blurred beyond a few inches away from his face, he could feel the bubbles floating up past him and brushing into his exposed flesh. He could squint and still make out fuzzy images of flickering screens and numerous white cloaked figures.
A dark skinned hand pressed against the glass, making the one in the tank jump back slightly and let out a little grunt of surprise. The hand slowly drug down the glass, smooth yet solid, he could tell just by the refraction.
"Vincent" the owner of the hand murmured darkly.
"I'm coming..."
The tired blue eyes snapped open at the instant recognition of the voice. He gagged on his breathing tube, which was shoved so far down his throat he could swear he could feel it scrape the bottom of his air sacs. His once dormant hearts now kicked up and raced with an aching intensity of sheer danger.
Everything came into focus slowly and he saw his younger brother who had inherited a prison planet but had been overthrown shortly after, mere inches away. His brother was wasting away in a tube just like his own.
"W-Warden?" he asked weakly gagging on the tube in his throat and trying to spit it up.
Those oh so familiar eyes glanced to him and a sly grin slid open under them,
"He's fine... or.... he used to be... up until he ended up dyeing on us..."
The experiments eyes flicked open and focussed on the one in front of him and he gagged thinking death threats and curses to the one holding him captive.
The corpse in the other tube seemed so familiar and yet so distant.
His eyes burned with the heat of tears which were lost in the sea of liquid he was trapped in.
There was a loud hiss that started coming from the top of his tank and he started to feel light headed and in a matter of seconds everything went black.
