A/N: Oh dear, I am getting to be a bit predictable as far as what I write goes... every show/book/whatever I tackle in writing a fanfic for, I end up doing this. Tsk, tsk... Well, first pairing of this type in this category. Stole a line from Degrassi. Can anyone catch it? You should be able to...

Read and review, darlings!

Disclaimer: I do not own Degrassi, regardless of what season. How could I? I wasn't alive when the first season was broadcast! I also do not own the song 'Hook in Mouth' and am borrowing the title since all the Degrassi: The Next Generation ep. titles are taken from songs of the 80's.

Hook in Mouth

By Speedo-kun

"The whole school was really worried..." The words echoed in Toby's mind, despite the fact that J.T. was still talking to him. He wasn't invisible. How much this fact shocked him was beyond his ability to put into words. He had thought he was just the computer nerd from grade 8, one of the ones that faded in with the rest. But, apparently this was not so.

Was it worth the ordeal to have discovered that this was true all along? Maybe. Some deep part of his mind said that is perfectly worth it, because it also made it so that people who had had no idea of him before now did. But the rest of him felt guilty about it. And this guilty portion reminded him that J.T. was talking and he should start paying attention, especially after causing him to worry.

"Toby? Toby, are you even paying attention to me?" Toby looked up at these words, and could see a look of slight annoyance on J.T.'s face, "Sorry... I was just thinking... about the whole thing..." J.T. walked over to the table, and set down an apple in front of Toby, "Well, if you're not going to pay attention, at least eat this. Slowly. No more barfing for you today." Toby couldn't help but smile slightly; leave it to J.T. to be able to put at least a little bit of humor in even such a humorless day.

"But... really, we were all worried, Toby... promise me you won't do something so stupid ever again?" J.T.'s face had settled back into a more serious facial expression once again. Toby nodded, "I'll never do it again. Believe me. Skipping out on so much food was just depressing, anyway. And barfing on purpose? Completely disgusting! Never again, never again..." A benevolent look shifted onto J.T.'s face, "I'm glad... because we were worried. Everyone. Even your stepsister was worried, Toby, and that _must_ mean something."

He paused, looking slightly uncomfortable, before continuing, "I was worried about you. Really worried." He leaned close to Toby's face, "Must be doing something bad if I'm worrying, you know." He swiftly pressed his lips against Toby's forehead, and pulled away a second later, still looking at Toby, "Still think you're invisible?"
