"The Prologue"

In the pouring sleet, a lone figure shuffled. The rain was merciless, soaking him to the bone. His clothing was dark colored, and a shiny object hanging from his neck stood out. A golden ring with arrowheads and an Egyptian pyramid in the center jangled as the person moved. Once in a while, it glowed. It was known as the Millennium Ring...

Lapse of Time...

Bakura slowly put one foot in front of the other, forcing himself to walk home. He didn't want to think about what his Yami would do to him today.

{You're pitiful.} Came the comment.

Bakura paid no attention to him.

{So now you think you're too good to listen to me?}

Bakura didn't stop.

{We'll see how ready you are to ignore me after today.} Then the voice was gone.

'And to think I wanted to befriend him.' Bakura scoffed at the thought.

A year ago, Bakura would have cowered at the sound of his Yami. Not anymore. Since then, he had learned that anything he did wouldn't be good enough. His kindness had faded. His sincerity had degraded. And his anger had built.

He was turning into his Yami.

Lapse of Time...

Finally, Bakura stood in front of his house, hair dripping.

'This afternoon: Watch punches with right fist.' Bakura reminded himself. He had been studying his Yami's techniques ever since that fateful day...

~The blows fell down upon the weeping boy. His white hair, stained with blood, lay limply on his shoulders as His screams echoed through the empty house. His pleas for a savior remained unanswered.

"Pathetic." Yami Bakura smirked, wiping a trickle of blood from the child's chin and licking it off his finger with pleasure. "You can't even put up a fight." A kick to the chest and he received a nice yell. "It is too easy to pry cries from your lips. You would never have lasted in my day." He paused his pacing to kneel down and whisper poison into the child's ears. "This is a world where only the most powerful survive." Yami Bakura hissed, his voice laced with the venom of cruelty. "You will never learn how to live."

The boy shuddered. He was still for a moment, then, to both of their surprise, he got up. His eyes burned with a new emotion. Fury. Loathing. Hatred. "Then teach me." He whispered.

Yami Bakura was taken aback. What was this? Had he truly ignited his reincarnation's flame? Of course. Only one with his talent could drive a peaceful child to this level of agony and seething without killing him. "Learn it yourself." He said, with a sneer. Why should he show this...weakling...all his secrets?

Again, the answer was shocking. "I will."

Yami Bakura laughed an insane laugh. "Bring it on." Little did he know that this time, sweet little Bakura was serious.~

Kaehimi: Whoa...wonder how this is going to turn out...
