Scipio turned over in his bed. He could hear something. There was someone in the theatre. He looked around and saw that all of his friends were asleep in their beds. He slowly got up and grabbed his mask. On his way he saw a pen knife so he picked it up. He crept down the stairs. He was so close to the intruder when a second person snuck up behind him with a gun which had been pressed against his back.

"Well, look what we have here. A little rat that has come to sniff out the trouble!" said the man behind the boy.

Scipio didn't say anything.

"Tell me what is a child like you doing out of bed at this late hour?" he asked again.

Scipio didn't respond. Suddenly he was pushed violently to the floor.

"When I ask a question boy I expect to be answered!" hissed the man.

"Anton let him up. If the boy won't talk without persuasion then we shall have to take him somewhere else and make him answer." Said the first man in a deadly quiet voice.

This made Scipio fight against the men. He had managed to get the man with the gun down on the ground and was about to deliver a final punch when suddenly a shot rang out. Scipio fell to the floor clutching his right arm. He screamed in agony. By this time all of the other members of the gang were awake and charging down the stairs. One of the men grabbed Scipio and they both ran into the darkest ally way. Scipio's cries were growing weaker. He knew he was losing the battle to survive.

"Boss I think you'd better come here!" stated Anton.

"Why what's wrong?" replied the boss.

Anton showed his boss Scipio. He face was almost ghost white and he was sweating. The boss placed his hand on Scipio's forehead. He had a fever and it was a very high one. Scipio moved his head away from the unwanted touch. He whimpered.

"Now, now it's alright we are doctors. You have had a nasty fall. You were running away from the shop keeper. He shot a gun in a hope to scare you away permanently but he accidently shot you. You fell from the roof up there." Lied the boss calmly.

Scipio closed his eyes.

"Hey no falling asleep, answer me this, were you sick before this incident?" asked the boss.

The boy nodded. The men wasted no time getting to the abandoned warehouse they called home.
