Sparrow looked around eagerly, her eyes wide with amazement.
She stared at every little detail as if she had never seen it before, when in fact she had been through it twice. But both times she was either unconscious or too excited about meeting Lord Lucien. Sparrow shivered at the thought of him and tried to push him into the back of her mind. She had exploring to do.

A large store caught her attention; half of the wares it was selling sprawled out on the plaza. Sparrow spotted all sorts of things on the rickety tables; she found a lute and strummed it softly. Wondering how loud the lute could play, she applied more force to the strings and jumped in fright when one of them broke. She looked up, hoping no one had seen what she had done, and quietly placed it on the table again.

What she saw next made her eyes light up in childish wonder. She gripped the toy gun and smiled, remembering the last time she had held her own. She closed one eye and held the toy up to the other and pretended she was shooting the civilians walking by. Sparrow laughed wildly, turning on the spot to come face to barrel with the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper raised his eyebrow, to which Sparrow replied with a cough, unceremoniously dumping the toy on the table.

A small packet was picked up next. She had no idea what it was. Turning it over in her hand, she thought deeply until the shopkeeper came to her side again.
'Planning on getting some tonight, eh?' he asked in amusement, chuckling as Sparrow's eyes lit up in comprehension. She furrowed her brow and put it back where it came from.

The shopkeeper spoke up again. 'Shopping for anything in particular?'
Sparrow thought for a moment before nodding enthusiastically. She pointed to her dog.
Dog had been awfully brave today, she thought, helping her beat Thag so that she could gain entrance to Bowerstone. Bitting whoever got close to her and even trying to get Thag himself!

Dog's tail wagged excitedly as she crouched down to scratch his chin. The shopkeeper grinned and walked to one of the tables closer to the entrance, grabbing a basket.
'Well, we have these,' he muttered, pulling a few collars out from the bottom of the basket. Sparrow looked at each one before shaking her head and pointing to Dog's own collar.

'Right, um,' he dug through the basket some more, 'What about this?'
She looked at the shopkeeper in confusion before he realised what he had in his outstretched hand.
'Sorry.' He plunged the pot of makeup back into the basket before grabbing what he had meant to hand to her. 'This okay?'

Sparrow smiled and took the rubber ball from his hand; she tossed it in the air and caught it before turning her attention to her canine companion. She shook it in front of Dog's face, his eyes trained on it. She threw it before the Shopkeeper could react.
'Hey!' he shouted, earning a glance from Sparrow.

Dog ran after the ball like it he was a beggar and the ball was a four course meal. He caught it after its second bounce, chewing on it gleefully, before he trotted back to Sparrow.
She grinned and took her coin purse out of her pocket. The shopkeeper furrowed his brow.

'Don't do that again. Askin' price is seven gold.'
Sparrow dumped the contents of the purse in her hand, frowning when five gold fell out.
She immediately looked into the shopkeeper's eyes, with her 'Pretty Please' face. It had always worked on the gypsies and travelling merchants before they got smart. She pouted slightly and let her shoulders fall, before sighing in a way that made most want to hug her.

He squinted at the display, trying not to give in. He sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose before saying 'Fine, two.'
Sparrow's mood lifted right up. She slapped the coins into his palm and quickly hugged him before jogging over to the bridge. The shopkeeper stood, watching her leave with Dog trailing behind.
