Ron was on his way back to Middleton after visiting Miracle and Dwayne. He was happy that he got to see his daughter. She had been married to Dwayne for five years now in Cleveland, Ohio. Miracle just had her first child. Ron was lucky enough to be there for her. He wished Kim could have been there as well. On the flight home, he met a young woman who looked like she could some cheering up.
I met an old man yesterday next to me on a west bound plane
Ron said, "I was married 30 years. I swear it feels like she's still here."
Then he took out her picture
Staring at that black and white, the tears filled up in his eyes
I said you were a lucky man, he said I feel like I still am
When he told me her name, I heard myself say
Chorus
I wanna be somebody's Kimberly
Somebody's world
Somebody's day and night, one and only girl
A part of a love story that never has an end
You know that's what every woman wants to be
Somebody's Kimberly
He made me laugh when he talked about their first date and her father's doubts
He said "Even as her hair turned gray, she still took my breath away and that never changed with time."
That's when I closed my eyes
I wanna be somebody's Kimberly
Somebody's world
Somebody's day and night, one and only girl
A part of a love story that never has an end
You know that's what every woman wants to be
Somebody's Kimberly
And when we finally said goodbye I hugged him and said
"I'll never forget how you showed me what it means
To be somebody's Kimberly.
Somebody's world
Somebody's day and night, one and only girl
A part of a love story that never has an end
You know that's what every woman wants to be
And I want to be
Somebody's Kimberly
Somebody's Kimberly
Somebody's Kimberly
Somebody's Kimberly
Ron got a phone call from Emma a six month after that plane ride. She told him to turn the radio to a local country station. Ron turns the station. When he heard those lyrics coming out of the speakers. His heart sank and he had tears coming out of his eyes. About a month after that Ron got a package in the mail with a note attached to it saying "Thank you for telling me about your wife, Kimberly. Here is a song that I written and I personally signed it for you. Take care of yourself Ron. – Reba Mcentire". Ron was so delighted that he never took the plastic seal off and let it in a collect of important cds. ron whispered a soft "thank you."
