Knock knock
By: The blondies
Authors' Note: What would happen if a way back, a new girl moved into the Camden house? Let's find out!
Ages of the Kids:
Lucy: 14
Mary: 16
Simon: 12
Ruthie: 7, I guess!
Anna: 13
Matt: dunno! Guess...
The knock on the door was faint, as if the person behind the door was trying to be secretive, or as if they were too shy to just come right in.
Reverend Camden answered, "Why, hello, Anna. Come in." he held the door open.
Standing on the doorstep was a small, tan girl, no taller than Lucy. She had deep blue eyes and dirty blonde hair with light highlights. She was wearing light blue jean hip huggers and a shirt that said, "Equestrians Rock" in bold, purple letters. Her eyelashes were long and curly, and she had her nails painted with the word "horse" on her left hand and "freak" on her right. "Horse freak".
"Hi," she said shyly, dropping her three bags on the floor and stepping timidly inside.
"Hi," Lucy said, as if it took all her strength to say the word. This girl was so...pretty! How was she going to beat her?
Mary smiled and picked up two of her bags. "I'll give you the grand tour...after you see your room."
Mary led Anna up to Lucy's room and threw the bags onto Anna's sheet less bed. "You brought your own bedspread, right?"
"Yes. I have a canopy too. I hope Reverend won't mind." Anna placed one of her bags on the bed.
"He won't mind."
"Cool. So, where's the grand tour?"
Mary introduced Anna to the whole house, and then said, "You should go fix your room up. If you need help with the canopy, go find Matt." Mary told Anna where Matt's room was.
"Okay, thanks!" Anna took her bags off her bed and pulled out her bedspread from her suitcase. It was baby blue with "Angel" written all over it. She placed her fluffy pillows on the side of her bed and fluffed them up.
Anna pulled some posters out of her suitcase and began taping them up to the wall next to her bed. One poster had a rodeo queen, another was a picture of an Arab, with the words, "Whoever said beauty is only skin deep didn't understand basic chemistry." Another had a picture of a rider on a Friesian, which said, "To ride or not to ride? What a stupid question..."
She hung a lot of horse posters right up against her bed, and placed a cowgirl hat on the handle of her bed.
Anna had unpacked everything, including a framed picture of her boyfriend. The frame was wooden, and it said, "I love my cowboy".
She suddenly noticed a bedside table. The Camdens had gotten her a bedside table! It also had a lamp made to look like a rose. It was beautiful. She placed her frame on it, and lay down on her bed. What now?
Authors' Note: Okay, so I know it's short. But how'd you like it?
