Loving You
"Just one day out there...!"
-Quasimodo from Disney's 'Hunchback of Notre Dame'.
There were moments when she dwell on the things in the past that stirred a violent reaction of nerves that rushed through her—and the anxiety really boggled her mind.
She really was quite unraveled by this bit of information given to her. She was never all that peeved—well, minus the bullshittery dealt with at school from certain trouble-making students that decided to show their dislike toward her in a violent physical fashion—and the stemming issues that opens up the possibility the house her family and her were living in was haunted.
That is most definitely haunted.
A bit of truth came to her in the form of her current trouble-making boyfriend, Tate Langdon.
Yes, his name was Tate Landgon.
He felt real to the touch. He looked real. He walked and talked like he was the genuine article and yet, he wasn't alive.
He was a ghost and overall her only friend here.
Her life in high school wasn't what she could call pleasant. Her bullies still bully her. The one bully that turned into her friend out of sheer fear rarely talks to her or anyone any more. She felt lonely.
What sucked about having a ghost for a boyfriend is not being able to have him walk outside with her. It almost felt like a "secret" relationship. As much as she loved going out and exploring new places, she spend most of her time at home.
Home was the only place she could really hang out with Tate.
Halloween comes once a year. The one time a year all the spooks can walk in the night.
She waited badly for time to pass so she could have another normal date to one of her favorite spots with him.
The time she spends with him in her room listening to Hole and discussing what Courtney Love meant by her lyrics as he holds her close, whispering sweet nothings was worth the lack of public display.
"I love you. You're my everything," Tate would whisper and her stomach would flutter with millions of butterflies, flapping away.
And yet, Violet often wondered about their future together. Violet can say without a shadow of a doubt she was in love with Tate. He understood her among all other things. He was all she could ask for in a guy.
How will their relationship work after a while? Violet will grow old and Tate will still be young. Can they even have children? She didn't think so.
The thought brought her despair and confused her about what she was doing with her life.
All she could think of was the now. The here and now—focus her time with Tate and hopefully with much optimism love will find a way to make what they have work.
Sadly, Violet didn't make it to her next birthday. She died in the infamous murder house and spend the rest of eternity along side Tate, two spirits intertwined with one another.
The End.
