"Oh don't worry sweetie. It'll all be over in a second." Verdona drew her hair closer to her struggling granddaughter. "One day you'll learn to make a new body. Any kind you'd like."

Gwen struggled against the 'hair' binding her. That was when she saw her. Another anodite, somewhat smaller than her grandma. And she had a glowing purple fist pointed right at Verdona.

"Agh!" The blast of energy hit hard enough to make Verdona drop Gwen. She spun to face the attacker and paused.

"You forgot to tell her how many years of training it takes to learn to make a new body." The anodite's voice sounded familiar but Gwen couldn't say why.

"But she has so much potential." Verdona argued. "Just think of what she could learn…of what you two could teach each other, Jenny."

"Jenny?!" Gwen and Spidermonkey-Ben echoed.

"Hello, Ben, Gwen,…Gwen's boyfriend?" She didn't face any of them. Just kept starring down the older anodite. "Congrats, cousin. You've got 'The Spark.'"

"Wait a minute you have a cousin named Jen? Ha!" Kevin had managed to work his way out of the rubble, only to pounded back in by Jen's 'hair.'

"You don't want to do this, Grandma. Not really." Jen frowned.

"And what makes you say that?" Verdona questioned. "You've lived on Anodyne, you know what it could mean for Gwen to go there!"

"It was my choice to stay there, Grandma, and you know I love Earth too." Jen frowned at her grandmother. "Gwen and I aren't like you, Grandma. We know what it is to be human and not just from wearing a body. Sure we have a place on Anodyne, but we belong here too. And if you take the choice away from Gwen she'll never forget or forgive that. Anodites live a long time, Grandma. Do you really want Gwen to resent you for the rest of her life?"

Verdona sighed. "Are you sure you want to stay here, Gwen?"

"I do like my powers, Grandma. But I love my friends and family." Gwen smiled softly at Verdona. "I'm not coming with you."

"No. I don't believe you are." Verdona returned her smile and gently set her down. "Well it's been a wild little shindig." With a snap Ben and Kevin were freed and the house was repaired. "But Mommas got to go."

"How did you do that?" Gwen looked in awe at her home.

"You could come with me and find out." Verdona suggested.

"Yeah or not." Gwen smiled then looked at her Anodite cousin. "But I think Jen could still teach me some things. If she doesn't mind."

"What are cousins for?" Jen chuckled.

"Oh well. Had to try." Verdona set Ben and Kevin on their feet with her hair. "Good bye all. And Ben, way to stick up for your cousin. You're alright."

"You too, Grandma." He smiled at her.

"Don't forget to have some fun every now and then, kiddo. Grandma's going to be dropping by now and then to see how you're doing." Verdona smiled at Gwen. "And I'll see you back on Anodyne, Jennifer." She smirked at her other granddaughter.

"Oh, I'll be back soon enough." Jen smirked right back. "Try not to have too much fun without me."

"I wouldn't dream of such a thing." With a final smile Verdona shot off into the sky.
