Disclaimer: I do not own. Surprising right.

Tsunade laid there with her head plastered against her desk in the Hokage Tower. She knew that when she lifted her head there would be ink smudged on her cheek from the papers resting beneath it but didn't bother to move to lost in her thoughts.

She let the empty bottle of Sake in her hand take residence on the floor with the others before opening one of her desk drawers and taking hold of a fresh one.

Believe it or not it was a common sight for shinobi to walk in and find their Godaime Hokage slumped against her desk with empty Sake bottles littered about. What none of them knew though was that it didn't intoxicate her. She had long ago grown familiar with the liquid and it took hold of her like an old friend and not a temporary whirlwind romance.

Sake was a good companion when delving into her thoughts and remembering the past.

She was an old woman now despite what her young appearance led some to believe. A fact that irritates and amazes her at the same time. She certainly never thought she would live this long, especially when she was a brat herself.

Life had been harsh to her over the many years. A lot of time has passed in her life. Be it at the slow pace of one of her summons or as quick as the few seconds difference between saving a life and losing it.

And she wondered how much longer she would be walking this Earth. Though she no longer looks at it as a curse laid upon her but as a blessing she was granted, she had no illusions of being around forever. Thoughts like that plagued Orochimaru's head, not hers.

Her time was approaching, that she knew for sure. It wouldn't be anytime soon, she hoped it wouldn't be anytime soon atleast. She still had many things to do before leaving this world peacefully. But it was peaking on the horizon none the less.

She needed to start preparing Naruto for his future as the next Hokage. The mere thought of his dream coming true warming her heart instantly. In her mind Dan and Nawaki's dreams live on through him. Sometime's it was hard for her to separate Naruto from them, when she tried to atleast. Naruto will change Konoha for the better, she just knows it.

She doesn't belive in fate but she's sure he was born destined for greatness.

There really wasn't anything left for her to teach Sakura. She'd mastered every technique that was given to her. She's surpassed Shizune and is on par with herself. Not that she expected anyless from the girl who reminded her so much of herself. Sakura will acomplish great things undoubtedly. Probably more then she did.

And she definitely need to get rid of those old coots on the council. They always interfered with every move she made and it wouldn't bode well for Naruto if she didn't. They would use every dirty trick in the book to manipulate him into their hands.

She would need to put together a new council once she got rid of them. Maybe she could coerce Kakashi into taking a position on the council, Team Kakashi is all but disbanded and it's not likely he'll take up the roll of Sensei again. Perhaps Shizune as well if she wishes too. It would be a good position for her to take on. And someone from the Nara Clan most definitely.

Yes, she had lots to do for the future of the Leaf Village. To help make things easier for the new generation.

"Ah! Lady Tsunade you shouldn't be drinking while you have paper work to do!"

And lots of Sake to drink inbetween it all.

Review and I'll love you forever and ever and ever.

And ever.
