Twilight's vermilion bloomed on the west horizon. The violet part was alluring, meanwhile, the eastern side was occupied by lines of grey. Satsuki was all alone in the edge of a small meadow, legs folded under her body with some pennies scattering before her, her little fingers were counting them. Beside her, a miniature of cute pink house she used to save her money had its lock opened.
"Looks like it isn't enough yet ..." she pouted. Then she raised her hands, hen fingers being lifted on, she folded them simultaneously while murmuring low whisper, counting.
Without knowing it, a boy—looked like he's around her age yet having the build which was above the average—stood before her, his sleepy eyes gazing at Satsuki. In his embrace there was a bunch of snacks, varied from chips to sweets.
"Ah, geez ..." she sighed.
"You can buy a lot of candies and snacks with that money."
Satsuki raised her head. Her eyes spoke the questions, "I dont want to buy candies," she puffed her cheek after the words spoken.
"Aah, unfortunately you don't want to ... you can have a lot if you want ... I see you have a lot of money ..."
It seemed like she didn't want to pay more attention to him. She contemplated, staring at the money, thinking the about the alternative way she could take with this oh-not-so-much money.
"What are you doing?" Atsushi Murasakibara squatted, both of his hands still hugging the snacks—as if he released the grip even a bit, he would lose everything at once forever.
"Don't you see?" she threw back the question, for a moment, she narrowed her eyes towards him, then drew back her attention to her money, "I want to buy a gift for my mother's birthday. Tomorrow is her birthday, but it seems like my money isn't enough to buy her her favorite clutch bag, which I saw in a boutique yesterday."
"Then just buy her foods."
"Just foods?" Satsuki placed her hands on her hips, her cheeks were puffed again. "My mother is not you."
"But it's better than giving her nothing."
Satsuki hadn't let herself to accept the suggestion Atsushi had just given. This little girl played with her thought once again.
Out of her expectation, Atsushi handed a big lollipop to her. "Give this to your mother."
"Eeh?"
"Instead of confusing yourself, it will be better to make this a your gift for your mother. Sweets make people happy."
Satsuki tilted her head, Atsushi still hadn't drawn back his hand.
"Thank you," her lips started to curve upwards. It looked like she was touched with Atsushi's words, eh? She took the big candy gladly. "How much I should pay you for this lollipop?"
Atsushi shook his head, "I haven't needed money yet. These sweets and chips are enough for me until tomorrow's afternoon. I haven't needed money to buy the others."
Her smile altered into a laugh, Atsushi's innocence entertained her a lot. The lollipop was in her hold already, but Atsushi didn't mind it at all.
The sun set down, starting to hide under the west line of horizon, leaving the darkening violet. With the color as background, Satsuki ran to her home with that violet-haired boy she acquinted from a giving of a big lollipop.
