Yay, Austin & Ally! I missed writing about this couple so much. I actually wrote this story a while ago, and I finally decided to post it. This is set in the Hater Girl episode when they're trying to lure Hater Girl into a trap but inevitably fall asleep.

Austin rested his back against the accessory cart in a dreamy daze. Even though it was a cold night, he felt surprisingly warm, right down to his toes. Austin's eyes suddenly snapped open when he realized why he was so warm: Ally was nestled up against him, burying her face in his chest.

Austin started panicking. He couldn't let Ally cuddle him like her teddy bear all night. However, if he tried to move, she'd probably wake up. He didn't want that either. She looked too serene, too quiet, too beautiful in her sleep. Wait a minute, did he just call her beautiful? Well, that was okay, wasn't it? He was her friend, but that didn't mean it was wrong to find her beautiful. Was it?

Austin shook his head to clear his mind. There was still the dilemma of Ally, who was currently wrapping her arms around his neck and resting her forehead against his cheek. Blood rushed up to Austin's cheeks. Ally had never been that close to him before; now that she was, he felt butterflies in his stomach. Austin finally decided that he would just leave Ally be for now. He had to admit it; it felt pretty good to have her so close to him. Austin rested his head on top of hers and sighed in contentment. He hoped Hater Girl wouldn't come for a while yet.

Ally's eyelids fluttered open and she jolted when she discovered that Austin's arms were wrapped around her. She looked up and saw him still fast asleep. Whew, what a relief! If he'd been awake to realize what he was doing… Ally decided not to think about it. Ally squirmed, but Austin only held her tighter. Ally blew a wisp of her hair from her face in frustration. She pushed against his arms with gradually increasing force as she fervently prayed that he wouldn't wake up. Simultaneously, she looked up anxiously at Austin and Austin looked down sleepily at Ally. Their eyes locked, and they gasped in shock. Austin hastily unwound his arms and rubbed his reddened neck. Ally blushed furiously.

"Sorry," apologized Austin shyly.

Ally had no idea what possessed her at that moment, but she suddenly kissed Austin on the cheek.

"Don't be," she murmured under her breath.

Austin happened to hear her and smiled. He laid back down on the ground, with one arm behind his head to serve as a pillow. His eyes were only half shut, so he saw Ally smile weakly and rub her arms to try to keep herself warm during the cold night. Austin inwardly moaned, knowing that his conscience would not let him sleep until Ally was asleep. Austin lifted his head and gestured for Ally to draw near to him.

"Come here," he prodded.

Ally gladly accepted the invitation and snuggled into Austin's chest again. She felt instantly warmer. Her breathing soon slowed as she fell into a deep sleep. The warmth of her exhales washed over Austin as he embraced his friend. Austin sighed.

"Maybe I could find an excuse to hold her in my arms again someday," thought Austin.

Until then, Austin would allow himself rest for the night. He closed his eyes and slipped into his dreams of fame, fortune, and friends, one in particular who had beautiful brown eyes and a smile that could light up the sky.

Aw, how cute, right? Well if you agree, then review, review, review!
