A
It was a warm June evening at Hogwarts, back in 1997,
All appeared to be calm in this safe haven.
But on the inside of the castle, in one large room,
Lots of young students were swimming in gloom.
The room of requirement had a dreary air,
As the war against Pure-bloods was going no where.
The students sat quietly nursing troche wounds,
They talked very quietly, feeling doomed.
Then all of a sudden appeared Harry Potter,
He demanded some help to defeat an evil plotter.
Quickly he rushed Ravenclaw Tower,
To search for the founder's wise old power.
Suddenly the castle was under attack,
The Dark Lord had found a way to get back.
With out a care he summoned Headmaster Snape,
He killed him mercilessly, preventing escape.
By now it seemed the Death Eaters would win,
As the castle was close to caving in.
Lord Voldemort called back his followers,
And demanded a cease fire in exchange for Potter.
The school sat hopelessly in the Great Hall,
Families crying over ones lost in the brawl.
Fred Weasley, Tonks and Remus Lupin, too,
Were among those lost to Voldemort's frightening crew.
Down in the forest, scared and sad,
Young Harry stood shaking sure he'd been had.
He had come to face Voldemort for he knew what to do,
He had come to die, he already knew.
In order to kill Voldemort he too must die,
For part of the Dark Lord's soul was hidden inside.
With a deep breath, he entered a clearing,
And stood facing Voldemort, his scar searing.
With little hesitation Lord Voldemort smiled,
He killed his enemy, the chosen child.
With a painful stab, Harry fell to the ground,
Lord Voldemort, too, fell with
Out a sound.
The evil soul that dwelled inside Harry,
Had died and gone leaving Harry quite wary.
Lord Voldemort had felt the part of his soul die,
And stood up very quickly, wondering why.
He ordered a Death Eater, Narcissa Black,
To ensure the boy couldn't come back.
She felt Harry's heart beat and knew he had won
She whispered in his ear, "Where is my son?"
She lied to the Dark Lord and said he was dead,
Lord Voldemort yelled in triumph at what had been said.
They carried Harry up to the castle,
Lying about the outcome of the dreadful battle.
The school heart had shattered, all hope was lost,
For the death of Harry was a great loss.
Voldemort offered those who wanted to join a place
But everyone knew that was such a disgrace.
Suddenly Neville emerged from the crowd,
Wielding Gryffindor's sword, making everyone proud.
He beheaded Nagini, Lord Voldemorts snake,
Causing another part of Voldemort's soul to break.
With a uniform cry the people the battle begun,
No one noticing the morning sun.
Harry, who had been playing dead,
Chased Voldemort to the great hall before he fled.
Locked in a deadly battle, the two circled around,
The audience watched quietly, not making a sound.
Harry explained how he could not lose,
As Voldemort was shocked at this startling news.
Suddenly Voldemort cried, "Avada Kevdavra!"
The cures that had ended more lives then his Cobra.
At the same time Harry screamed, "Expelliarmus!"
The charm that had saved him from hurting people in excess.
As the dust cleared the audience cheered,
Before them stood Harry, the rest of Voldemorts' soul had disappeared.
The atmosphere wasn't happy, in fact it was sad,
For people still though of the loved one, they had.
With a sad heart, the school was relieved,
The goal they had chased, finally achieved.
They had a large feast in memory of those,
Whose brave lives were lost, while fighting their foes.
Many years later on at King's Cross train station,
The families were getting their children in formation.
Harry smiled at his daughter and sons, he felt his heart swell.
His scar never hurt for all was well.
