The boys had just finished another case somewhere near Georgia. Sam was still in the hotel checking out.

As Dean was waiting for him in the Impala, he had fallen asleep. He was anxious these days and as he hasn't slept for days because of his restless job, nightmares were hunting him whenever he tried to get some sleep. It was A nightmare actually because it was always the same thing he was seeing. Maybe he could call it a memory, a heart-breaking memory. It was dark and he could hear water somewhere near him.

Then he saw a guy with a trench-coat getting into the water. CAS… Dean wanted to scream, but he couldn't say a word. He just watched his best friend going away, knowing he ain't coming back and he did nothing. He didn't save him. He could now swallow the betrayal and forgive him right away without thinking twice. He couldn't trust anybody now… he couldn't even trust Sam. Cas' face appeared. He had that puppy-eyes face. His blue eyes were staring at Dean and his mouth murmured 'Save me'.

Dean opened his eyes filled with tears. He didn't want to close them anymore, he didn't want to feel this way. There was a huge hole in his chest. All he could feel was pain.

He had wished he was emotionless many times before but now he wanted it even more. He wished it was all over, he wished the world could be okay without the hunters' help, he wished he could live a normal life. But that's what it all was – wishes. He was meant to be a hunter and no one could escape faith. It was the only thing he was actually good at, so how could he really quit… But the people who he saved, no longer brought him joy.

How was the world paying off? This job brought to him only bullshit. Realizing that, he would always hit the road with his brother, saving people, hunting things…

Sam interrupted his thoughts when he opened the right door of the Impala. He got in the car, gave Dean a smile and threw a newspaper at him, saying 'Our next case'.

Dean wouldn't even look at it. He started the car and asked 'Where to?'. His everyday life was waiting for him.
