The royal family of Tonnerre was not your typical royalty. King Arthur was a fair and just ruler, yes, but his wife, Queen Molly did not put a toe into the royal courts or anything that had to do with running the kingdom. All she cared about was raising her children properly, and making sure they were all safe and sound.
Her oldest son of seven, Prince William, Bill for short, was next in line for the throne. He had married a French princess named Fleur, and they had a daughter named Victoire. The second oldest son, Prince Charlie, loved the outdoors. He never wanted to become king and had passed his place down to the next oldest, Prince Percy. Percy was training to be an advisor to Bill. Then there were the next two oldest, the twins Princes Fred and George. They were pranksters and loved to travel the world. Then, there was the youngest son and second youngest child, her brother Prince Ronald, Ron for short. He was training to be in their kingdom's army. He was the only one that didn't live in the castle because he had a small manor next to the barracks.
And finally, there was her. The only Weasley girl for seven generations. The only blood princess of Tonnerre for seven generations. There was much excitement when she was born, but that came with the constant fussing of her mother. Everybody expected her to be a lady, but she had a secret. She was not a lady. Sure, she pretended to be one in public or for her mother's sake, but at night, she would sneak out to train. Running, soccer, riding, boxing, basketball. She did it all. She was very strong, and her brothers knew that. That's why they NEVER were mean to her. They knew she could kick their arses to America and back and then blame it on something else and their parents would never ask any questions.
"Princess, your parents would like to see you," said her old governess, Nymphadora Tonks. Ginny sighed and put down her quill, turning to face her. "Tonks, how many times have I told you not to call me princess? Please call me Ginny. I call you Tonks." she said while getting up and smoothing her skirt.
Even though she wasn't a girly girl, and didn't care much for appearances, her parents, the King and Queen of Tonnerre were very strict. Her mother would chew her head off if her skirt was crumpled. "Sorry, Princess, but I must, Queen's orders," Tonks said, holding open the door. "And besides, you only call me by my surname." Ginny stuck her tongue out at her and muttered whatever and walked out into the corridor, towards her parents' chambers.
Once she got there, she knocked on the huge, brass and wood doors. "Come in," was her mother's faint reply. She entered, and her mother said: "Oh, Ginerva." Ginny flinched. She hated her real name. "Come and sit. Now, your father and I have some news to tell you. We have found you a husband!" her mother told her. "But you said I could pick my own husband!" Ginny protested. "Now now Ginny, what have I told you about talking back?" her mother asked. "Sorry," Ginny mumbled, looking down at the floor. "Who is he at least?" she asked. Her mother smiled. "Prince Harry James Potter of Dewr," she said.
Ginny's head shot up. "What?" she screeched, before remembering her manners and folded her hands back into her lap and said "Sorry." The queen raised an eyebrow and said: "Your father and I are arranging this marriage with the King and Queen of Dewr. It will form an alliance between our two countries, to raise the chances that we will win the war against Ovinur. So, you will travel to Dewr in two days time. Your brother Ronald will go with you and you may bring your governess Tonks and friend Lady Luna Lovegood. Now please, go to your room and pack quietly." Her mother turned back to her desk and Ginny left the room.
Once back in her room, she finished her letter to Luna and gave it the royal mailman before going to find Tonks. Tonks was in her own chambers and when Ginny knocked to come in, Tonks opened the door and led her to the plush pink couch for a cup of tea. "Tonks, I was wondering if you would like to go to Dewr with me," Ginny asked, after taking a sip of tea. "Certainly. I would love to go to Dewr." came Tonks reply. Ginny raised an eyebrow. "Is there a special someone there?" she asked. Tonks blushed. "Yes. Lord Remus Lupin. Advisor to King James. He came to Tonnerre a few weeks ago remember?" she said. Ginny nodded. She could see why Tonks liked him. "Tell me, Princess, why are we going to Dewr?" Tonks asked. "Well Tonks, it seems as though my mother and father have arranged a marriage for me to Prince Harry James Potter. He came to palace once when I was eleven, made friends with Ron, and saved me from a bucking horse, a bear, and a bunch of bandits, remember? He's really stuck up." Ginny told her. Tonks frowned. "Ginny, that was seven years ago. He's grown up now, from what Lord Remus tells me. And how do you know you won't like him? You might just need to get to know Harry, not Prince Harry." Ginny nodded but that was it.
She thanked Tonks for the tea, and went back up to her chambers, to change into her riding outfit. She really needed some time away from people right now, and could probably get in an hour or two before dinner. She went out to the stables to get her horse Chocolate and saddled her up. Her mother had only got her a side-saddle, so she had gotten herself a real saddle and hidden it in a hollow oak tree on the outskirts of the forest. She rode out into the forest out of sight, then headed towards the tree to get rid of that blasted side-saddle.
She told Chocolate all her fears and worries, even though she was not that expressive, Chocolate was easy to talk to. And she always felt better after talking. And even though Chocolate was just a horse, it always felt like Chocolate could understand her. Chocolate always nosed her face and made her laugh when she said something that made her feel down or nod her head whenever Ginny was ranting about something. Ginny rode until dinner, but barely ate anything at all. The day after tomorrow, she would be leaving Tonnerre for Dewr and meeting her future husband. But that wasn't the only thing, they were in the middle of a war! She shouldn't really be traveling anywhere at the moment! And yet the wedding was only three months away.
