Disclaimer: Hardly needs one, but as this is Ratfic, I guess this requires a "Water Rats is owned and operated by Southern Star and not me."
Authors notes: Just a short piece from me. Still working on half a dozen other stories but felt like penning something today. Feel free to relate this to anyone that would be missing someone. Read it as you wish!
Time moves on.
They said it would,
But you didn't want to believe them.
One day you realise that it stopped aching,
And you can't quite remember when.
The days have been good,
The sun warms your face.
You laugh at all the jokes,
And then you realise,
Their name hasn't crept into your thoughts.
At first you feel guilty.
You don't want to forget,
You know you will never forget.
But somewhere it stopped aching,
And you wonder how it could.
The sun is still shining,
The world has not stopped.
Now you smile when remembering their name,
Because somehow it stopped aching,
But you can't quite remember when.
It just did.
