1 - Things you said at 1 am

Ganta felt his eyelids heavier than the previous few minutes, maybe because he'd spent the entire afternoon studying for the final exams.

That afternoon, he didn't go to visit Shiro at the hospital, so somehow he felt a disgusting feeling inside him, which feeling didn't let him study at all. Wherever Shiro was, she must've felt sad and lonely.

Just like he felt right then: sad and lonely because he didn't have the woman he loved beside him.

It had been two years since he heard her voice for last time, and there were times Ganta was about to forget how her voice was; those times he tried so hard to remember her voice, but the days passed and he found harder to deal with those frustrating moments more and more.

Exhausted, Ganta turned off the lamp of his desktop and walked through his bedroom in darkness, just for a little while, to lie down in his bed, quietly. That silence would be infinite if it wasn't because of his breathing, and the memories running in his head, memories which only appeared Ganta and Shiro.

Ganta furrowed his brows at all those memories didn't let him sleep, because he had to get up early, the next morning. When he opened his eyes and looked at watch, he realized it wasn't so late. 1 am… I could have studied more, he realized, though the fatigue and feeling bad for Shiro would've complicated more his studies.

He closed his eyes again, and suddenly, Ganta remembered the promise he made to Shiro two years ago, in the same hour but in different circumstances:

When we're out of here… We're riding the big wheel.

Ganta remembered how excited Shiro was when he made that promise, because she always wanted to ride it but she thought it was forbidden to people. It happened just the same day Senji had explained him Nagi's past, and when Ganta mentioned Nagi about it, he found out Nagi didn't feel any rancour for the Undertakers. He received some bitter deceive, because he would hate the Undertakers his entire life if they did that to his wife and his unborn son, or worst: the Wretched Egg…

He would always remember that night because he would fulfil that promise in the end, but a while before to fight against Shiro, or as everyone knew, the "Wretched Egg". Suddenly, he had a great desire the first time would have been distinct, because it supposed they had to be free and happy, not about to get a lethal fight.

Maybe in a future, in the same type of attraction, but in a different amusement park and in different circumstances, they'll ride together the big wheel. Ganta, then, fell asleep with a tiny smile in his face, which lasts thoughts before to fall asleep were Shiro's smile and the promise he made that night.
