Some people say that when you trade pokémon, you're trading away your memories. Bullshit!
They call me 'The Exchanger' for a reason, and that's because I have no holds barred about trading and can do it to my advantage. Gold and I would never have gotten out of that situation with the Team Rocket bastards in the Tin Tower had I not have secretly switched my pokéball containing Seadra with his Polibo, causing them both to evolve. Gold wasn't happy with me at the time, but I did what needed to be done. We both obtained stronger pokémon and traded them back immediately afterwards. That is a direct example of how trading benefits people and pokémon.
And staying on the topic of Kingdra – when she was still a horsea, she was traded back and forth several times between Blue and I, and as a result, she has shared the memories of two trainers. It's a shared experience between us all, and all three of us are wiser for it. The way I see it, a traded pokémon has two times the experiences of a pokémon hoarded by a single 'trainer'. Because really, they can't call themselves trainers if they hold such disgust at a practise as old as training itself, and one which can help a pokémon grow immensely strong. No, those people are selfish and do not understand that the meaning of being a trainer is only to help a pokémon realise its true power.
Tell that to your dear memories.
