Shione was sitting at the bed at her new house. In her hands there was a picture of her long-time friend, one Nonoka Komiya and herself. They were standing next to each other. She sighed and put the picture away. She regretted what she had done, but there was no going back. It was for the best anyway. After all, she had hurt Nonoka multiple times. Noel was the one who cheered her up afterwards, not herself.
Which was the reason she broke off that friendship in the first place. If she stayed away from Nonoka for the rest of their lives, then Noel wouldn't be able to leave. She would stay by Nonoka's side and heal her in the way that she herself never could.
"Hey, Shione, dinner's ready!" her dad called from downstairs
Quietly, she tied her hair up and joined him at the table. It was she and her dad only since the divorce. Funnily enough, she and Nonoka bot]h grew up without mothers. Yet, while Nonoka had Noel, she had nobody to ease her pain.
"So, how is that friend of yours? Nonoka, I think her name was?" her dad asked, looking directly at her
"She is fine..." Shione told him "As it should be."
Yes, it was for the best. She had Noel to look after her, and Shione hoped it would be enough to make her happy.
Except that deep down, she knew it wouldn't be."
