This is my first Lily/James fanfiction, although I have written other fanfictions in the music category. Please read on and let me know what you think.

Disclaimer: Not mine...get it?

Chapter One:

"Oh Lily dearest!" James Potter called as he emerged from the entrance portrait. Tailing behind him were his partners in crime and fellow fifth year Griffindor's Sirius Black and Remus Lupin.

"Go jump off the Astronomy Tower, Potter." The fiery red head spat back, not bothering to look up from the book she was completely immersed in.

"Now, now Evans! You don't really wish Jamsies death, do you?" Sirius grinned, casually sliding the book out of her grip.

"Yes I do, Black. Now kindly give me my book back or I will have to use force." Lily rose from the cozy armchair and drew her wand from her robes.

"A little pissy this evening, are we?" James took the book from Sirius and handed it to Lily. She snatched it from him as quickly as he would catch a snitch.

"What do you want, Potter?"

"I want to ask you—"

"NO! I will not go out with you!"

"Okay. How's next Friday?"

"NO! Not here, not now, not EVER!" She hissed, the green tinge in her eyes glowed with rage. "I'll go out with you, Potter, when hell freezes over!" With that, she seized her book, flipped back her flaming hair, and stalked off.

"I think she meant it, mate."

"Had a nice sleep, Lily?" Mackenzie Tremor asked her best friend between bites of eggs and sausage.

"Oh yes. I really needed a good night, after all the homework and Heads Meetings I've had to deal with. It's been difficult trying to plan the Christmas Ball with Potter trying to get me to snog him every three seconds."

"You really oughtta give him a break, Lil. He's been after you for two years and he's not that bad."

"Oh come off it, Kenzie! Sirius has clearly got you brainwashed! I don't know what you see in him. He's just as bad as James!"

"Oh! Mail's here!" Two owls swooped down in front of the girls. One was pearly grey and carried Mackenzie's subscription to Witch Weekly. The other was jet black and carried a large bundle, wrapped in brown paper. "Oooooh flowers!" Kenzie squealed, as Lily teared the paper off of a rather beautiful group of flowers.

"Not just any flowers...they're lilies!" The redhead smiled, lifting the flowers to her freckled nose to smell the sweet aroma. Lily reached for the note that was attached to the paper.

Beautiful flowers for my beautiful flower.
Love, Prongs

"Prongs? Who's Prongs?" But Lily didn't answer Mackenzie's question. The messy-haired quidditch captain at the far end of the table seemed to have caught her eye. He gave her a sweet smile, one which she reluctantly returned.

"I think our Lily might just be coming to her senses!" Sirius said, while kicking a stone down the trail to the lake.

"I think so too, Padfoot." Remus chimed. "She really seems to be warming up to you, James."

"More like freezing over..."
