THERE was the faint echo of far off voices, and despite the distance she couldn't help but over hear what was being said.
"You're sure?"
"It's the only way... she isn't like Yusuke... I can't just give her a trial and bring her back..."
"hn..."
"You probably won't ever see her again...shouldn't you be telling her goodbye?"
"Tch... What's the point in that? Even if I said it she wouldn't remember."
There was a heavy sigh, "Have it your way then..."
DESPITE it being early summer, the weather in Louisiana was oddly cold. For the most part everyone went about their daily business as if it were a normal summer day. The head of the Hale family could be seen leaving in his overalls at four a.m., followed three hours later by his twin sons on their way to school.
Sarah was the oddball of the family, so it made sense that five hours after her father's departure she could still be found curled up under a mountain of blankets. To any onlookers the young adult appeared to be invisible under the giant mountain.
The instant her alarm clock began to beep, an irritated fist came shooting out of the warm comfort of blanket mountain to slam loudly onto the snooze button. "Damn stupid..." brown eyes widened, and then went back to their normal lazy state as she threw her favorite blanket over her head "Damn... late again... may as well get a bit more sleep..."
It was barely a moment later when a foot appeared from out of nowhere and kicked the woman of the bed, blankets and all.
"GET UP YOU LAZY BUM!"
The mountain of blankets growled, "Aleister... I swear to GOD if you don't stop shouting I'm going to-" The young woman emerged from the pile of blankets wearing warm-up pants and a T-shirt and yawning. She blinked sleepily, having forgotten whatever it was she'd been about to say to the white haired man.
Aleister took it all in stride, folding his arms behind his head with a teasing grin. As he passed by her he couldn't resist the urge to ruffle her hair. "Take it easy kid just doing my job."
Sarah couldn't resist the urge to kick the man as he passed by ruffling her hair, but she secretly enjoyed that he treated her like a kid.
She changed the moment he was out of the room, and in ten minutes emerged in the living room where Aleister was sprawled out lazily on the couch.
"Is there a reason you're here Ale?"
The white-haired male grinned, "cause I like to piss you off?"
She grinned at his antics, in a much better mood now that she was on her feet.
"While I don't find that hard to believe at all, I'm fairly sure you're here for something else."
Ale rolled his eyes at her, "Always ruining my fun aren't you?"
She stuck her tongue out at him as he sat up placing his elbows on his knees and looking at her with blazing blue eyes.
"I have news," his gaze fell on the tiny orb that was always hanging 'round the girl's neck, "On that gem."
