The blonde, leather clad boy raced through the burning streets; trying to ignore the screams of everyone he knew being burned alive. Chasing after the one person he knew had done this. The doctor. Meaning "Healer, Wise."…Ironic.

"Doctor!" Axis screamed, falling to his knees. The white haired man turned around, clad in his dinner jacket and checkered pants. The dancing flames were reflected in his eyes, casting dark shadows across his cheekbones

"Axis…" The Doctor said sadly, "I'm sorry. I had no choice." Then he turned and headed towards the TARDIS. Reaching into his pocket, Axis grasped his sonic and pointed it at the TARDIS, delaying her system, hopefully, for long enough.

Struggling to his feet, Axis glared at the Doctor. As he opened the door, Axis darted for it, sliding in just as it closed. Thankfully, he knew just where to hide. Axis darted to the pool, heart breaking as the TARDIS engines started up.

Arriving in the pool, he looked at the dark green-blue water. The faint lights that shone above provided little light, but enough for Axis to lean over and he his reflection.

His blonde hair was pulled into a messy ponytail, most of it coming out from his chase with the Doctor. His green eyes were hollow and slightly misted over. His pale face was streaked with soot and blood. Wait, blood? Confused, he touched his forehead the source of most of the blood.

His head snapped back as he ran straight into a smoldering doorframe. "Ever!" He screamed, ignoring the singing pain of burns and the cut.

"Ah..." Axis muttered as he remembered. His chest ached, his voice scratching at his throat. "Stupid", He coughed, gripping where one of his hearts would be, "smoke." The violent coughing continued until Axis felt weary and exhausted.

Looking around, he noticed there was no place the Doctor wouldn't notice him. Suddenly, an idea hit him in the head, and he dove into the pool. The ice cold water attacked him, put he pushed to the bottom. Pulling his sonic out, he tore out the metal tiles covering the bottom of a little circle of the pool.

Trying not to go up to the surface for air, his chest already burning, he dove into the little tunnel he'd created and sealed it. Some water had poured in, but overall it had oxygen and was relatively dry. Axis let out a sigh and curled up in a drier corner, closing his eyes and drifting off.

Author's Corner: Sorry about the weird Doctor description, but the Doctor, at this time, it was the first Doctor. 11 will come in the second chapter. Also, sorry to all old viewers of this story, as it was taken down for revision and will be reposted, chapter by chapter. Hope you enjoy it, and pleases review! I don't own Doctor Who.
