The Designated Outcast
By: Black Enchantress
I've been designated the outcast,
Deemed with no respect or worth,
Someone only judged by their past,
Isolated all the way back since birth,
Cut out from the social norm,
Left to my mind's own dwelling,
While emotions stir around like a storm,
Darkness just seems so compelling,
Left alone to defend my pride,
Designated to live without a name,
Cast aside with no one to confide,
Forced to live in the shadow of shame,
Made to believe my dreams are dust,
Made to follow in their perfection,
Learn from others not to trust,
Taught to look in the other direction,
Designated to fill the hole in their lives,
Learn to deal with the truth they give,
While their words cut through like knives,
Through it all I've got to live,
Learn not to be beat down,
Look for the beauty that is inside,
Learn to block out the sound,
Learn to fight and survive,
Find my talents covered deep,
Drive through their glass wall,
Find the pride my heart needs to keep,
Realize this is my life's call,
I'm the designated outcast,
Walled up to stay outside,
Learn to make the happiness last,
Learn to ignore the hurt that they lied.
This is an original poem that I have copywrited. Though it is a look
through not only Marvel's character Rogue but my own as well.
