Author Notes: This is my first fiction, although I am working on a longer original, I had to post my version of what happened at the end of The Good, The Bad and the Dominatrix. Any and all mistakes are mine. R & R so I'll know if I should just give up now or not…FoG
After the End
Grissom drove home feeling just shy of smug having convinced Heather's ex-husband to reconsider allowing her into Allison's life. The car radio played some soft jazz and Grissom found himself thinking about children. Did he want them? Did Sara? Maybe this was something they would need to discuss, someday…someday soon. Realizing he was home, he parked his Denali next to Sara's car and took the steps up to their door two at a time.
"Sara, I'm home, honey." The only response to his call was their boxer Bruno bounding down the steps to greet his master.
"Hey boy, where's Mommy?" Grissom smirked at himself realizing his comment and his thoughts from just a few moments ago.
"Out here Griss!" Sara called from the patio. The smile left Grissom's face and it occurred to him she'd called him Griss. Sara usually called him Gil at home, saving Griss for work and when she was upset or worried about something.
Grissom filled Bruno's water bowl and went to join Sara on the patio, to see what he'd done this time.
"What are you doing out here?" Grissom asked as he crossed the patio to join Sara on the porch swing.
"I was just re-reading your letter, how did it go with Heather?" Sara gave him a soft kiss as he sat down next to her.
"It went well, I think she's found something to live for in that little girl."
"I hope so, everyone needs something to live for." Sara rose to enter the house "How do you feel about whipping up a veggie lasagna, since we both have tonight off?"
"Great! We can eat it out here, there is something I'd like to talk to you about!!"
"OK, I'll meet you in the kitchen in a few minutes, you go get started." Sara went into their bedroom and pulled out the little pink stick from her nightstand. "There's something I'd like to talk about too Gil" she said to herself.
