A/N: So the other day my uncle called me a fussbudget because I was being fussy over which kind of wine I wanted to drink. Let's just say that real life scene inspired this story. I really hope you guys like it. As always please read, enjoy, and review.
Eddie was having a bad day. Jamie could tell something was bothering her because she had been fussy all day. She had even been fussy about food and she was never fussy about food. She was fussy about her coffee and where they stopped for it. She was being all too fussy for his liking and it had to stop. She was just fussing about a bottle of water now, in the shop they stopped at. 'I mean it's water what's so complicated about it.' Jamie thought. When they paid for the water and got back to the car Jamie decided to act. Jamie turned to Eddie and said "What's going on Eddie? You've been acting like a fussbudget all day since well before we started our shift."
Eddie looked at Jamie with an angry look on her face which quickly turned to hurt. Jamie's face softened. "Oh Eddie... What's wrong? You know you can tell me anything partner." Jamie said.
Eddie looked up again and had tears shining in her eyes. Jamie reached between them and wiped away her tears with his thumb. "Shh... It's okay Eddie." Jamie whispered.
Eddie opened her mouth to try to speak but nothing came out so she gathered herself and tried again. When she finally spoke she said "I am really upset that you actually went out on a date with that ridiculous doctor."
Jamie was so stunned he couldn't do anything except nod. "And I guess I am mad at myself for asking you to flirt with her. And mad at myself for not telling you how I feel and keeping it all inside." She continued. "And you aren't really helping by telling me how your date went and calling me things just because I am being fussy." Eddie finished.
"Aww I'm sorry Eddie. I had no idea you felt this strongly about the situation. I mean you said we should pretend it never happened even though I really like you too." Jamie replied.
Eddie was surprised. "But I thought things were going well with the doctor?" Eddie asked.
"Well they were but I told her I had someone else I really liked and that I would be hurting her and myself if I dated someone else. She understood and said she was just glad there were still nice people in the city like me. It gave her hope." Jamie replied.
Eddie smiled a big smile. She was so overjoyed. "So what does this mean Jamie?" Eddie asked.
"Well I think it means this is our last tour together and tomorrow we get new partners." Jamie replied.
Eddie turned away from Jamie and let a few tears slip. She thought Jamie liked her and now he wanted nothing more than to ditch her. Jamie noticed this and turned her chin slightly so he could look her in the eyes. "Hey listen... getting new partners will be good for us. You'll see and then we can publicly date each other." Jamie said.
"Oh Jamie you meant it? I would love that." Eddie replied.
Jamie smiled. "And by the way Jamie Reagan I am only fussy when I am really upset." Eddie said.
Jamie just laughed and replied "I know Eddie. And it's okay."
The end
