I Don't Mind [Percy Jackson & the Olympians One shot]

Waiting in the woods at night was never a good idea. Especially past eleven, and tonight was no exception. If it hadn't been for who I was waiting for, I would've been out of here half an hour ago, but it was for her. Hopefully the harpies would resist the urge to eat me a little longer, or else I'd never see her gorgeous face again. I really don't think I could live with that.

"Where in Hades could she be?" I asked impatiently. Well, I was ADHD, so cut me some slack. I sighed and sat down on a rock. She was supposed to have been here half an hour ago. What if… what if something happened to her? I couldn't bear the thought. Just then, a form materialized from the shadows. "Whoa," I said while running over to her. She fell right into my arms; shadow travel really tends to drain a person.

"Hey there," she said looking up at me, her gray eyes shimmering in the moonlight. "Hi," I managed. Her eyes tended to entrance me from time to time. "Sorry I'm late. Shadow travel's pretty tricky," she said weakly. This little venture had really taken all her strength. I felt a twinge of guilt because she lost her energy to see me. "Don't worry about it, I know," I said smiling down at her, "I don't mind waiting."

"That's the biggest lie I've ever heard Percy Jackson," she said while shuffling out of my arms and regaining her own balance. I racked my brain for the most intelligent comeback I could think of and came up with, "Hey!"

"Well, you know it's true you ADHD fool," she said while scoping out the forest. I was so glad to see her; I really couldn't remember the last time I had seen her. "Ophelia, why don't you stay at camp?" I asked. The question caught her off guard, "I don't know, I don't know." We sat there in silence for awhile before she spoke up again, "Even with the new Hades cabin, I still feel like an outcast here. I don't know if I could live here feeling like I don't belong."

"But you do belong, Ophelia. Your friends are here, Annabeth, Travis, Katie, even Clarisse, and me-"

"And I," she corrected. Even though she was dyslexic too, Ophelia was a stickler for proper grammar.

"And Nico. Don't you want to be with your brother?"

"Yes, I do… It's just I don't know, Percy. I'm just not comfortable at camp."

"Please, for me?" I asked while holding her face in my hands, "Okay… maybe," she stuttered getting lost in the moment. I leaned in and touched her thin, pale lips with mine. It sent a thousand lightning bolts down my spine, and believe me, I knew how lightning felt down your spine. All that mattered in the world was Ophelia. Dracaena, empousi, and giants had nothing on her. We parted for breath after a few minutes, and then she took over. Ophelia wrapped her arms around my neck and pressed her lips to mine once more. I wrapped my arms around her small waist, pulling her body closer to me. We were molded together perfectly. Fireworks were exploding from the passion of this kiss. She broke the kiss, "I'm definitely staying if we get to do this more often." I laughed, "Of course." With that, we went back kissing beneath the light of the full moon.
