"Little Gudako, may I speak with you?"

The small nine year old, who was just came out of the house, paused when she saw a rather familiar gentleman she had seen before standing outside of the Emiya residence exterior. She had shoulder length auburn red hair with a side pony-tail hanging in a bright gold scrunchies, a prominent ahoge on her head, and big golden amber eyes that almost appeared blue in a different light. She wore a dark sailor outfit with the classic red school backpack.

(She was just waiting for her older brother, Gudao, who would be escorting her and dropping her off to her elementary school before he goes to the local high school their parents and family had also attended. He had to do something before they leave, so she decided to wait outside of the house's exterior until then. Apparently, their Auntie Taiga would be also joining them just further down the road since she wanted to make sure her niece and nephew were safe and the two would be going to the high school together. Meanwhile, Leysritt and Sella would be shadowing the trio from a safe distance to ensure their safety...and because Sella doesn't trust Taiga. At all. That was probably half the reason why the two maids followed the siblings around every time they left the house. Not that either minded. They both felt safe around them.)

He was Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg, her mother's Master and a really important man in the Clock Tower. Whenever she saw him, she was always polite and showed respect to her mother's Master, but she and Gudao personally liked to call him 'Grandpa Zelretch' because he was weird and funny and only met on certain occasions like a grandpa. Though her mother dreaded the fact her children called the Wizard Marshall 'Grandpa', he didn't seem to mind too much.

This man, utilizing the power of Second Magic, knew things that other people wouldn't know, including the fact that everyone refers to her as Gudako but it wasn't her real name. Apparently, her mother said that Zelretch actually got involved in naming her and she didn't know if that was a good thing or bad thing considering who Zelretch was. It was a little weird that he addressing her by her nickname, but then again it's the Wizard Marshall. Who knows with him. It could be anything.

Despite being nine years old, Gudako knew that if Zelretch was around, then something super big, something far beyond her comprehension, was going to happen. That usually resulted with her parents (and occasionally her aunts) vanishing for a while and then coming back, exhausted and drained, though satisfied that they averted the crises. She didn't mind too much since her family always came back and her aunties, Gudao and Leysritt and Sella would take care of her until they did. She knew it was something important.

However, what was concerning Gudako in the moment was that Zelretch was speaking to her, not her parents. Her parents were currently off on their mission as far as she knew, so he couldn't possibly be here for them. Maybe their aunts? Or maybe Gudao since he was going to be admitted into the Clocktower after his final year of high school.

"...Okay." the young girl replied cautiously.

"Gudako!" the little girl's older brother came out of the house, with his Homurahara Academy uniform on. A tall, handsome teenager with messy black hair and blue eyes sped towards his baby sister. He strongly took more from their mother's side of the family, but nonetheless had some of their father's qualities in him too. The moment he step foot outside of the Emiya residence, he immediately took noticed to Zelretch. "Huh? Old Man- I mean, Sir Zelretch!" the young man bowed towards his mother's Master. "Hello! Ah...what...why are you here?"

"Perfect." he said, ignoring her brother's question, grinning. "You're both here. This makes things easier."

The Magician of Second Magic instantaneously teleported them both inside their father's shed. She briefly wondered why were they in the shed when Zelretch could have teleported them anywhere in the world. But, then again...he probably did it so nobody would suspect them talking in here. Besides, nobody really came in here except their father.

"Little Gudako," Zelretch started. "There is a great danger upon us. If left alone, it could result in the world - nay, the very multiverse to be in jeopardy."

The words merely flew pass the girl's head. She was only nine after all. She didn't completely understood the weight the words carried.

Gudao was utterly confused what was happening, but he stood next to his sister just in case something crazy was about to happen. He didn't say anything but whatever the Kaleidoscope wanted, it couldn't be good.

"Then why are you telling me? Shouldn't Mama and Papa know?" Gudako responded firmly. If what was going to happen catastrophic, why was he telling the siblings about this? Her brother she understood, but why her? Why must she be involved?

The Kaleidoscope gave a small gratifying smile. "Clever girl. You are bright and possess such latent yet absolutely boundless potential and talent. Indeed, while your family will eventually come and help aid in the crisis, you however are the only one who can fix this."

The nine year old could only blink in response.

She was the only one who could fix this? What? Why? How? Couldn't their parents fix it? Why would the fate of the very multiverse rest on the shoulders of a nine year old girl who so far had led a good, though unusual childhood where her family was anything but normal?

The idea of saving the world was a very familiar yet distant concept for her. Many times, her parents had to do very important things and was very busy, but always made time for their precious children. Gudako was aware that their family circumstances were more...different when comparing to most people, whether they be magi or regular humans. Growing up, she learned that while her family came from a long and prestigious magus background and have decided to teach Gudao and herself magecraft they didn't want either of them to live a life of a magus.

To be a magus would mean to sacrifice the human side of them for the sake of power and success. To have a magus life would be mean devoting all their lives to research and upkeep the family name and care for nothing else.

What their family wanted for them was entirely different.

They wanted the siblings to be someone who was loving and compassionate, never sacrificing their heart for a greater gain. To be someone who took care of those who loved them and never abandon them. To be someone who followed their dreams for their own sake and not for the sake of others without a single shred of doubt.

They wanted them to become the people they truly ought to become.

Gudako gripped their mother's pendant, a family heirloom both she and Gudao possessed and kept with them at all times. She grabbed her older brother's hand, causing him to look down.

"Nii…" she said quietly.

Gudao blinked before sighed in defeat and smiled down at his sister. He couldn't say no to her. Nor he could turn a blind eye to innocent people getting hurt. The identical red pendants both he and his sister carried with them always held very important legacies, importance and meanings. Their father engraved into both their heads to never walk away from injustice or to help those who are need of help when presented the opportunity. Saving the world was a bit much to fully comprehend, but if it meant saving lives then neither will the siblings deny the change to help others like their amazing and incredible family.

"Very well." Gudao responded firmly. "But, I'm coming too."

Zelretch grinned. You both are just like your father, the Wizard Marshall thought to himself. "Good. You're a big factor in my plans anyhow. It wouldn't be as entertaining if you weren't with your precious baby sister. However, before I send you both on your way to where you need to be, I need to do something first." The Master of Second Magic created a portal and pulled out a blue and silver orb from it. It pulsated with holy radiance, a golden-white light that faintly sparkled out a rainbow of colours against the dark walls of the shed around them. The older gentleman pushed the mysterious orb into Gudao, causing him to collapse onto the floor, writhing in pain and clutching his chest, struggling to breathe.

"Nii!" Gudako cried out, trying to somehow help her brother.

A moment later, Gudao went limp, possibly passing out as the same golden-white light faintly outlined his fallen figure before fading away mysteriously.

"Nii? Are you okay? Nii?" the little girl pleaded to her unconscious brother, shaking him in the hopes that he would respond.

Zelretch grinned with glee, almost giddy. "Perfect!" he then looked down at Gudako. "I already have everything else prepared so I will be sending you off where you both need to be. You will know what you will need to do when you get there." he said, then activating Second Magic. "Don't worry. You both will be in good hands."

Before the young girl could react or prepare herself, she and her brother were surrounded by beautiful colours before blacking out.

"Fou…" a small voice cooed, and something warm licked the teenager's cheek.

Gudao stirred, forcing his tired eyes to open. When his vision began to clear up, he realized his little sister was in his arms, both of them laying on the floor in a high-tech neo-modern hallway. A moment later, Gudako also came too, her eyes wearily opening as well. She looked up and her face expressed extreme relief when she saw her brother's face.

"Nii..." Gudako smiled. Her big brother was okay. He wasn't hurt.

Gudao returned the smile, though a tad sluggish and slightly pained. The older one of the duo noticed that he was wearing a white uniform top with a black strap across his chest, black pants and shoes. His little sister wore something similar to his own attire, but in a one piece white dress with black tights and knee high white boots.

"Ah...excuse me, are you both okay?" a soft and timid voice asked. The two siblings sat up and looked up to see a very pretty teenage girl with light pink hair and violet eyes and black rimmed glasses looking down at them both with a concerned expression. "Why were you both sleeping on the floor? Is it comfortable?"

"Not really…" Gudao replied. Feeling a little groggy, both he and Gudako stood up on their feet. The young man noticed his baby sister watching a small white fluffy dog-rabbit-squirrel creature with pristine snow-white fur, long ears and a bushy tail wearing a cute little cape sitting on the older girl's shoulder.

"Who's that?" Gudako asked. The young child wanted to know what that tiny animal was. The siblings, inheriting their father's ability to sniff magic, noticed the creature held a powerful scent. For Gudao, it held a particular scent similar to items any Phantasmal Species left behind before retreating into the Reverse Side of the World, but didn't recognize which kind it was. For Gudako, there was a faint and familiar floral tinge that she recognized from somewhere.

"Oh, this is Fou. He's a Privileged Life Form, free to wander the halls of Chaldea." the stranger replied. "He seems to like you both. That's quite rare."

The three watched Fou jump off and quickly scamper away.

"Who are you?" Gudako asked turning to the older girl in front of the siblings.

The teenager blinked clearly caught off-guard by the question; but before she could answer, someone beat her to the punch.

"Ah, there you are, Mash," a new voice interrupted. An older German man who appeared of Aryan descent approached the trio. Both siblings immediately felt a chill riding down their spines, almost wanting to cover their noses as this man came closer. Gudao felt a compelling urge to protect his sister, gently pulling her closer to himself. She didn't resist; in fact, she welcomed the gesture. There was a horrible scent of death and suffering clinging onto this man. Just his outfit alone was blatantly screaming he was a bad guy. "My, walking off on your own like that...at least inform the staff. It causes problems."

"Sorry, Dr. Leff." Mash apologized.

"And who might they be?" the man asked politely about Gudao and Gudako.

Gudao didn't want to say his or his sister's name, at least not in front of him; but nonetheless complied. "I'm Gudao," he introduced himself. "And this is my sister, Gudako." he wasn't readily going to reveal their full names, especially since they have the same name. For the sake of everybody's sanity, it'd be best for everyone to refer them both by their nicknames. "But our name is Ritsuka." he added in. There was a strange and dark, almost demonic and evil aura to this man. His intuition was telling him that there was something more about this man in a very bad way and something terrible will happen. He had to keep Gudako and himself away from him.

"Ritsuka?" Leff repeated, until realization dawned on his face. "Oh my, are you both Master Candidates? I thought both we made an error."

"Error?" the older brother echoed.

"When the Director reviewed the Master Candidate profiles, she saw that there were two dossiers that had the same names. Everyone thought that she was given a copy of the same document, but looks like we were mistaken." Leff explained. "However, we don't have another room available. Can you both share a room?"

"Yes?" Gudao replied back questionably.

"Great. Welcome to Chaldea. We should probably take them both to the Command Room to avoid missing the Director's Orientation. You should probably keep an eye on them. They might fall asleep again." Leff said almost jokingly.

"Okay." Mash agreed. "Come along, Senpais."

Mash, Leff, Gudao and Gudako made their way to the Command Room, with the siblings trying to inconspicuously edge away from Leff.

Being the last people to come into the room, the siblings had to sit in the last seat available; which was the front row middle seat, dead center of the stage. Gudao sat in the seat before lifting his sister into his lap. It wasn't very inconspicuous of everyone present in the room to be whispering about the unusual pair and giving them strange looks. Neither one of them cared since they apparently had to be there and it wasn't the first time the two attracted quite a bit of attention before.

When the Director came on stage, Gudako tried to listening to everything what the Director was yelling at everyone in the room, but she only managed to understand at best a third of what was said. All she understood was that Chaldea was a super important place, something called rayshifting and a singularity and that the Director was super bossy. She would ask her brother later to explain everything more lucidly, but she immediately noticed that her brother was having trouble staying awake. Similarly, like her brother who was falling asleep during the long-winded speech, Gudako started to tune out the Director's ramblings until she and the Director made eye contact. It was clear that she was pretty angry.

Director Olga Marie Animusphere openly leered down at the child and her dozing brother, but Gudako was not deterred by her pointed glare and levelly stood her ground.

"Nii, wake up." Gudako gently tapped Gudao's face, causing him to snap open his eyes.

Gudao blinked his eyes before realization sank in his drowsy mind. "...Was I asleep?"

Gudako sighed. The two siblings unfortunately inherited their mother's innate desire to sleep and not wanting to wake up. It was showing up more prominently in Gudao, but after that crazy episode with Zelretch and what he did to her brother, she couldn't blame him for wanting to sleep. Just what did the Kaleidoscope do to her brother? All she hoped for was that he wouldn't die. She still wanted him in her life and their mama would be furious if he just died like that.

"Yes, you were," Director Olga Marie Animusphere scowled, openly leering down at the siblings. Neither of them were deterred by her pointed glare. Apparently, their father's unyielding courage and inability to back down from a situation was hereditary, like many other qualities. "You dare sleep while I am present? And why do you have a child with you?"

Gudao frowned at the Director's rather vicious attitude. "This is my sister."

"Huh? You brought your sister here?" Director Olga Marie said frowning.

"Sorta, but she's also a Master Candidate apparently." Gudao responded back.

The Director's eyes widened. "What? Show me your ID!" she demanded. Gudao and Gudako momentarily searched for their IDs and handed it to the Director. She snatched them both out of their hands, and read them. Her eyes widened. "...So it wasn't a mistake...huh?!" she loudly exclaimed in fury. "What?!" she threw the IDs back at the siblings, landing on Gudako's lap.

"Leff!" Olga Marie called out.

The suspicious man walked over to the irate Director. "What's the problem?"

"There are problems everywhere! Get him and his sister out of my sight!" she demanded harshly, pointing at the siblings.

"Oh...that's it? Director, you understand that they're both chosen Master Candidates and they were personally chosen by both the Mage's Association and the Church. You needn't be so rude." Leff replied back.

"So what? What if something happens to my Chaldeas?" the Director countered. "I don't trust either them to be here. Send them both to their assigned rooms! I will be personally see to them both after the First Mission." she then stormed off.

Leff frowned awkwardly. "...I guess she doesn't like either of you." he said. "Oh well. Orders are orders. Mash will know you to your room. I will come and see you both after the Rayshift experiment is over in about two hours."

Gudao and Gudako didn't respond back. Instead they elected to following Mash. Hand in hand, Gudako and Gudao followed the teenager who will guide them to their assigned room.

"I'm really sorry, Senpais, if the Director seemed rather...harsh." Mash apologized to the siblings. "I promise that the rest of the staff here are not as difficult."

Gudao merely shrugged it off while Gudako merely grunted. "It's okay," the older sibling said. There was probably other people far worse than the Director they had both had met (that Leff guy was certainly coming to mind), so they were okay.

"Fou!" a sudden blur of white tackled Mash in the face.

"The fluffy white squirrel is back." Gudako said.

"Hi Fou." Mash greeted the small creature who settled onto her shoulder. "How have you been?"

"Does he normally do that?" Gudao asked. He was referring to the sudden tackles to the face.

"Yes, but it's no problem." Mash explained. "He does it quite often."

Fou tilted his head and hopped into Gudako's arm. The young girl marveled at how soft his coat was.

"Looks like Fou has embraced you both as one of his own. I wonder though…" Mash began trailing off. "Oh, we're here." they stopped in front of a room that was right across the infirmary.

"Thanks for coming all this way." Gudako said to the girl, smiling. There was something about Mash that she really liked right away so she was okay being around her.

"What team are you on, Mash?" Gudao asked their guide.

"First Mission, A Team," Mash replied. "Speaking of which, I got to head back now."

"Kyu! Kyu!" Fou chirped in Gudako's arms.

"Fou says he'll be looking after you, Senpais. That sets my mind at ease." Mash said. "Now then, I'm off."

"Bye-bye, kouhai." Gudako cheerfully replied.

Gudao smiled at Mash. "See ya later, Mash. If we're lucky, we'll meet again soon." he said smiling.

Mash blushed a bit before leaving.

Gudao turned to the door and opened it. The lights were on and there was already somebody in there. A man with fluffy peach coloured hair tied in a ponytail sat on the bed with a laptop in front of him and some cake in hand. He turned to see a young man with a small girl holding a fluffy white creature standing in the doorway of the room.

"What? Who are you?" the man demanded, slamming his laptop closed and jumping off the bed. "This is an empty room! Who gave you permission to be here?"

"Uh...we were told that this is our room." Gudao replied back.

"Your room?" the man said. "Oh...I see, so the last Master Candidate finally showed up." he said with a glum expression. "But...why are there two of you?"

"Apparently there was a mistake when selecting the Master Candidates, mostly because of a confusion of identity." Gudao explained.

"A mistake?" the man echoed until a light went off in his head. "Oh! You mean the dossier situation? Wait, you both have the same name?"

Gudao strained an awkward smile. "Yeah...it's a long story, but for the sake of everybody's sanity, you can call her Gudako." he patted his sister's head. "I'm Gudao."

"Well, nice to meet you, Gudao, Gudako. Didn't think I would run into you like this, but let me introduce myself again. I'm the head of the medical department, Romani Archaman." the man introduced himself. "You can call me Dr. Roman."

Gudako's eyes got onto his fluffy ponytail. She wondered if it was as soft as Fou's.

"Let me guess," Dr Roman said to the siblings. "You're the rookies who just got here then got on the Director's bad side?"

The siblings nodded their heads simultaneously.

"Then you and I are alike. I get yelled by her too. In fact, she threw me out, saying that I make everybody else slack off. I've been here since, sulking about it." he said, then he smiled. "But then you guys showed up. Why don't we spend some time together, since we all don't have anywhere to go to."

"Sure," Gudao replied. It's our room, anyhow, he thought to himself. Neither he or his sister were loners. Apparently, they inherited a certain charisma from their father that makes people attracted to them. Including his inability to openly retort his actual thoughts out loud since he was too polite to do so.

Gudako tilted her head noticing the piece of cake on the bed.

"Can I have some?'

Gudako happily sat in her brother's lap after finishing some cake. The Doctor decided to explain Chaldea since neither the siblings knew anything about the place or its purpose. Gudako was a bit too young to completely understand and Gudao dozed off during the Orientation the Director rambled on about. Fou laid on the end of the bed.

"So, Chaldea is built on a snowy mountain super high above sea level…" Dr. Roman said until his small wrist-mounted intercom started to ring. He answered it. "Yes?"

Gudako tuned the conversation out due to her boredom and because of the small sugar rush she was getting from the cake. Her family didn't often get sweets due to their father's insistence that she and her brother needed real food. Same goes for junk or fast food. Her father essentially forbid it in the household. She crawled off her brother's lap and sat on the edge of the bed, swinging her legs.

"I see...anyway, okay, I'll be there." Doctor Roman finished. "Well, Gudao, Gudako, Leff wants me down to the Central Command Room and do some doctor stuff. I'm just a normal doctor, but when duty calls, I must go."

"Doctor Rome, is Leff a bad guy?" Gudako asked bluntly. Ever since she and Gudao met that Leff guy, he was giving seriously bad feelings. Doctor Roman also gave off a different weird feeling, but it wasn't bad like Leff, so she ignored it.

"Gudako," Gudao scolded. His sister definitely inherit their father's straightforward and blunt personality. Nonetheless, the older brother also wanted to know more about this Leff character. He was triggering red flags everywhere for him. Their aunt always did say to trust their instincts, because they're always right.

"Huh? Uh...I don't think he is. Why do you think that?"

The siblings wasn't so sure what to say about inheriting their father's ability to sniff out magic, so they didn't. "There's something super weird about him. His outfit totally makes him shady to the max. Mama and Papa always said to watch out for shady people." Gudako said.

"I see…" the Doctor replied, awkwardly. He wasn't so sure how to respond to that. "Anyway, thanks for chatting with me, Gudao, Gudako. I had a great time. After you guys settle in and the mission is over, drop by the Infirmary across the hall. I'll give you some more yummy cake."

Gudako beamed brightly while Gudao smiled back.

Suddenly the lights went out and loud sirens were blazing.

"What the-?!"

Emergency. Emergency.

A fire has broken out in the Central Power Station and the Central Command Room.

Central Area's containment wall will activate in 90 seconds. All staff must evacuate from Gate Two at once.

Repeat. The Central Power Station and the Central-

"The Central Command Room?" Gudao repeated.

"Mash?" Gudako asked nervously who grabbed onto her brother in fear when the lights and alarms went off. Fou hopped onto his feet and stayed close to the siblings.

"Fou…"

"Gudao, take Gudako and run." Doctor Roman instructed. "I need to go and check on something. I'll be back soon." he said before opening the room and left sprinting.

The Doctor ran through the smoke-filled corridors to open the Central Command Room. He saw fires blazing in the room and debris scattered across the ruined area. He immediately turned and ran to the underground power station. He was so focused on his mission that he didn't notice the siblings accompanied by the small white creature running into the Command Room through the thick dark smoke.

"Mash!" Gudao and Gudako cried out in the blazing and wrecked Command Room. Only the large central globe, CHALDEAS, remained unharmed. They jumped over the large chunks of debris and burnt body parts that littered the floor to try and find Mash.

"Sen...pais…" a weak voice called out. Gudao and Gudako found Mash's lower half of her body crushed by a large chunk of concrete. "Please...you need...to leave…" she pleaded. "Run…"

Gudao and Gudako stubbornly refused to leave. Both trying with all of their might to push the large block of debris off of Mash.

"It's...no use…" Mash quietly murmured. "Just go…"

Unable to detect the existence of mankind 100 years in the near future on Earth.

Update: Human Extinction Confirmed.

"No...Chaldeas is…" the globe in the very center of the room turned into an ominous red.

Central Area, sealed.

The metal doors slammed against the ground, sealing off any possible entry or exit out of the area.

"Oh no...you're both...trapped…" Mash said weakly. "You can't...get out…"

Gudao and Gudako sat down next to the trapped girl and both gave a reassuring, hopeful smile.

"...We'll figure it out." Gudao replied confidently.

"It'll be okay, Mash." the small girl said. "We'll find a way out."

Rayshift requirement not met.

"Senpais…" Mash smiled weakly.

Searching for qualifying Master...Found.

Candidate No. 48, Ritsuka Fujimaru Emiya reset as Master.

"Could you...hold my hand?" Mash whispered as she felt her consciousness slipping away.

Both Gudao and Gudako happily complied, firmly grasping Mash's hand tightly as the building collapsed around them among the burning flames that grew hotter.

Unsummon Program, commence.

Starting Spiriton Conversion.

Rayshift starting in 3...2...1...

Ta-da! I did it! I made the other fanfic I had in my head! Sorry, that took so long. Coming up with a new title really drains a lot of brain power out of a person. Actually...if you have a better title in mind, please do not hesitate to tell me! I will consider it and change the current title since I'm not super happy with it.

The story is pretty similar to the first one, but with obvious differences. The other fanfic will be about Gudako and this one more about Gudao. I couldn't do it very well in this chapter, but I promise that future chapters are in Gudao's point of view more. I'm planning to rewrite this chapter to make it in Gudao's point of view, so don't be surprised.

Just in case if anybody was confused, Gudao (male protagonist) and Gudako (female protagonist) are full-blooded siblings and Rin and Shirou's kids, but not twins. But they have the same name. Just to make things clear, only Gudako has 'Fujimaru' as her middle name. I did mention Zelretch somehow got involved in naming Gudako.

Due to an error on her birth certificate, Gudako ended up have the same name as her brother. Rin and Shirou going to get it changed, but Zelretch got involved and insisted that she keeps her name the same as her brother's, but instead added the middle name 'Fujimaru' for her.

In my story where she got her nickname, when Gudako was really young, everyone addressed her as 'Ritsuko', her intended birth name to avoid confusion. Rin was teaching Gudao about Grand Order, the highest law of magi (Magic Crests), Gudako overheard and started saying Grand Order nonstop to the point where Gudao called her 'Gudako' - "Guda" from Grand Order and "-ko" from Ritsuko.

Gudao does have his own nickname, 'Gudao'. Gudako kept saying Grand Order particularly to her brother, causing her to chop it to 'Gudao' to make it easier to say.

I'm aware how many people see the male and female Master - as fraternal twin siblings. Believe me, I LOVE that concept just as much as my stance that the interchangeable protagonist Masters of both FGO and Extra are the same being, but the whole one person or twin thing kinda doesn't work here. I wanted the siblings to have a big age gap to make it fluffier and even sweeter~! I will make omakes about the theories using the Kaleidoscope and other stuff :D.

If you're wondering what 'Nii' means, it's Onii-chan (big brother).

If you're getting confused about the whole name thing...sorry.

I hope you like it. Please leave constructive criticism. If you have nothing nice to say, please don't say it.
