Editor's Note ~ That was Kosetsuno's little poem saying that we are only borrowing the Harry Potter and its characters. ^__^ But, the Tenshi are real people. We won't react very kindly if we find out that you used our personalities and/or the idea of us without asking.
This is the beginning of The Legend—the Tenshi/Harry Potter series. Kosetsuno and I sincerely hope that you enjoy it. It picks up after J.K. Rowling's Goblet of Fire when Dumbledore tells Sirius to gather the "old crowd". We have worked tirelessly on this fic—endlessly writing, editing, and revising. Please be kind—R&R.

The Legend
~ There's a legend—a legend that is as old as magic itself: When the world is threatened by evil, Angels will appear. These Angels, known as Tenshi, will save the world from great danger. They will be powerful beings and gifted in magic far beyond the ordinary witch or wizard. Even nature will be controlled by these powerful Tenshi. ~
No one knew the legend's origin. It was as old as history itself. So, as time passed, the world began to forget about the Tenshi. Soon, the legend became no more than a fairy tale told to children at bedtime. As the legend changed, the world changed, as well. Witches and wizards were no longer allowed to practice magic for fear of death. The few who remembered the legend cried out for help, but no help came. The years went on and still more witches and wizards died at the hands of those non-magical people they had taken to calling muggles.
Before it was too late, a young woman appeared and began seeking those who were magical. She found centaurs, werewolves, vampires, and all who lived in the forest. She told them stories of hope and taught them to look to the stars and wait for the season of change.
She went into towns and spoke against the muggles and their harsh treatment of magical beings. Along the way, she found two others that shared her vision. Together, the three women were lovingly called Angels by those that remembered the legend of old. Thus, they became known as the Tenshi.
The Tenshi helped the magical folk and taught them how to hide their craft from the muggles. Magical schools were set up for children to attend, so that the magic could be taught and remembered. But, hope, which the Tenshi brought with them, did not last.
The muggles struck back. The Church found the Tenshi and forced confessions out of them. Everyone watched as rings of condemnation were put on the ring finger of each of the girls. Tears rolled down the faces of witches and wizards as they watched their hopes and dreams tied to stakes.
Towns wept as the women, who had never seemed to age, were burned as heretics and witches. Though the Priests search for remains, all that could be found was three rings with gems in the eyes—the rings of those they had damned.
The rings were sealed in the church treasury. They were never to be used again. For as long as the treasure keepers of the Church could help it, the rings would be there. Only three days after the rings had been locked away, they disappeared. There was no explanation. The guards had no idea what happened. Nobody had been there.
However, one of the guards claimed that as he slept that night, he dreamt that three women had come. They wore dark robes and hadn't looked alive and yet weren't dead. They looked at the rings, touched them, and vanished saying it was time.
"Destiny," the guard said. "One of them talked about how destiny was calling and that it was time for the Tenshi to fly again. That's when they vanished."

The world encountered darkness many times over the years. Every time, though, the darkness was overcome. However, late in the twentieth century, the magical world was in trouble once again. This time the threat came not from the muggle world, but from a wizard. This dark wizard, named Voldemort, had begun gathering supporters, and the killings began. Battle lines were drawn. It was to be a show-down between those for the light and those against it.
In 1980, three girls were born into different families. One was born into a family of magical people. They watched the rise of Voldemort fearfully and sighed with relief when he was defeated by the young Potter boy. One was born to a muggle father and witch. They also watched and rejoiced. The other was raised in the muggle world. Her parents never knew about Voldemort. Her mother died when the daughter was barely three years old, and her father abandoned his young daughter. Soon, this young girl was a ward of the state. She moved from foster family to foster family until she reached the home of the witch and muggle.
Their name was Devon, and they felt blessed to adopt a sister for their daughter, Riley. The girl they adopted was Nicole Eversly, who was very gifted at getting into trouble and didn't trust the family. Riley took Nicole everywhere, except school—the young witch went to a magical school and could not risk her muggle sister finding out.
Unusually gifted, Riley was at the top of her class and often knew more than the teachers. Riley's best friend at school and a contender for her top spot was Robin Goodfellow. Robin was also more advanced than the teachers, and the two spent a lot of time together talking about how horrible it was that Riley's new sister was forced to be a muggle. That changed, though, when Nicole received a letter from the school of magic.
At age thirteen, Nicole was mistrustful of people, especially adults. She also loved getting in trouble—something she was extremely gifted at. Though she had an instinct for causing trouble, she always managed to avoid punishment. She never told anybody how she could do this. She also never told anybody that she knew Riley was a witch and that she was one as well. She just waited patiently for her letter.
Chaos followed quickly when she arrived at the school. She tested out of the first and second years of school and was put into Riley's and Robin's classes. Eventually, she began to feel more comfortable in her new life, and she opened up.
Eventually, rumors began to spread among the magical community that Voldemort was rising again. The girls could feel the dark cloud gathering but said nothing. Finally, they were called upon to act by a wise, old wizard, who recognized them for who they really were. With letters in hand, they embarked on a new journey—they were charged with saving the world.
