Smiles
Jim is a professional at identifying his daughter's smiles.
Disclaimer: I do not own the Office. I do, however, own my little Jam babies.
Jim could identify everything behind his daughter's smiles at any given time. He prided himself on it. Each of them had their happy smiles, sad smiles, jealous smiles, confused smiles, random smiles, you-name-it-smiles. After sixteen years of Smiles 101, he was a professional. But each of them had their very own smile that held true to their name, and those were his favorites.
Allison Pamela's smile was the Sonny Smile (patent pending). It was a broad ear-to-ear, teeth-baring grin that made you warm and fuzzy on the inside. Her brown eyes would crinkle at the sides and her nose would scrunch up in a very Sonny-like manner. She was the oldest at sixteen and looked more like Pam than Jim, with spiraling brown hair and side swept bangs. She was tall and just slightly plump, which made her smile even more glamorous. Her rosy cheeks seemed to glow when she smiled, and that was all the time.
His second baby girl, Musetta, had one of the most aptly-named names ever imagined. At twelve years old, her smile was never broad or brilliantly-bright like her older sister, but it made you think about what she was smiling about. Her perfect lips would quirk up just at the sides and she would sometimes giggle at seemingly nothing, making Jim laugh along with her, hugging her tightly. She would smile up at him through Pam's green eyes with closed lips and smooth porcelain skin, her frail-looking arms circling around his shoulders. She was his quiet little Muse, and her smile was absolutely enchanting.
Claire Madison was the fluttering ballerina of the group. The middle child and ten years old, she was always chatting to someone- anyone- with a dimpled smile on her face. She looked like him. She had dark, chestnut brown hair that floated down around her face in frizzy curls she loved, all the way down to the middle of her back. Claire was amazingly thin, and could almost always be spotted doing Grande jetes across the hallways, or pirouetting on the hardwood floor of her room. Always with a smile on her face. A dimple in her right cheek was evident if the smile was genuine, and a freckle right above her lip, which only he seemed to notice, was emphasized. She had a glowing dancers smile, his Ballet Girl.
The four-year-old identical twins, Eleanor and Hannah, did not have identical smiles, no matter what anyone said. They both had his straight hair that curled at the edges, just brushing their shoulders, and Pam's lean build and green eyes. Their eyes held just a few flecks of brown if you looked close enough, in the same pattern. But their smiles were completely different. Ellie seemed to explode when she smiled. Both cheeks dented in two dimples in a fraction of a second and her eyes were almost sealed shut with the force of it, but she only seemed to smile when she laughed, never just smiled alone. She was his Excited Little Baby. Hannah Belle, on the other hand, smiled more than she outright laughed. Her broad grin came before the dimpled cheeks and her eyes would crinkle just a fraction of a second later. She seemed to always have to make sure she knew what she was laughing at. She was his Thoughtful Girl.
But one thing was for sure. They were all Daddy's Little Girls.
End Notes: So, to clarify (and cause I like typing their names…): Allison Pamela Halpert, more commonly known as Sonny, is sixteen; Musetta Elisabeth (Muse) is twelve; Claire Madison is ten; and Eleanor McKenzie (Ellie) and Hannah Belle are four. I plan on working with them later, and I have pretty much the whole Office employee's children all planned out. :) Review please!
