AN: This is just a drabble written off a prompt given by Jaklyn G.. For those reading my other stories, I am about done with the next chapters. They will be posted soon.
How did he get himself into this position? He didn't know a damn thing about children.
When his mother and formerly estranged Aunt Andromeda began talking again, Draco never expected that he would get volunteered to watch the child of his late cousin. He hadn't known Nyphadora, and he didn't care for her werewolf husband. But here he was, nonetheless, stuck at home with a 3 year-old he didn't know how to care for.
Draco felt incredibly overwhelmed. He had never realized the amount of damage a toddler could do with just so little to work with.
He had already had to 'reparo' several items including vases, mirrors, and even a window when Teddy preformed some accidental magic. Every time he left Teddy alone he would get into something else; even if Draco was out of the room for only a moment.
Draco had felt especially flustered when Teddy fell off the couch and wouldn't stop crying for nearly 30 minutes. It took a reluctant Floo call to Granger to find out that all he had to do was 'kiss the booboo'. Draco did as instructed and the child calmed down almost instantly.
He was currently Scourgifying the kitchen where Teddy decided to play with is food instead of eat it. He would have had the house elves to do it, but due to Granger's new laws, elves got one day off a week, and today happen to be that day.
Just as Draco finished cleaning the floor, Teddy came running in covered in a thick blue substance. "Aco, Aco, look, look!" Upon further examination, Draco discovered that the substance in question was his very expensive Madam Vixen's hair serum.
Irritation built up in his chest. "Teddy, were you getting into my stuff?" He asked rather forcefully.
Tears began to pool in the toddler's eyes. "But, but Aco, I be ike you." He patted the top of his head, "see."
Draco noticed Teddy's hair had been morphed blonde and a fair amount of serum had made it to his head. He was trying to look like his cousin. Draco took a deep breath. "Teddy, were you trying to get your hair like mine?" Draco asked in a much calmer tone.
Teddy nodded his head. "I be ike you Aco. You so cool!" His mood began to brighten as he spoke.
Draco felt a smile tug at his lips. Maybe this kid wasn't so bad. He did, after all, have great sense of judgement when it came to who he wanted to emulate. "Okay, Teddy, but next time, allow me to do your hair so we don't make a mess."
"Mess bad," Teddy replied with a stern look.
"Yes, mess bad. Now let's go get you cleaned up."
After Draco bathed and changed Teddy, they settled on the couch for a story from The Tales of Beedle the Bard and within minutes Teddy was snoring. Draco looked down at the sleeping toddler. "I guess I could get the hang of this," he said to himself as he too started to doze.
