When the World stopped turning
'There's something bothering Twilight, I just know it.' Tyber thought to himself as he walked toward Twilight's room. He walked up to the door and knocked on it, "Twilight, you in there?"
"Yeah, come on in."
Tyber opened the door and saw Twilight sitting at his computer, "What are you doing?"
Twilight responded without looking up, "Research."
Tyber glanced around the room, "About?"
"9/11."
Tyber cocked his head, "Uh, you know everything I knew up until the point you were created. So you should know enough."
Twilight glanced at Tyber, "No, I don't."
Tyber sat down on Twilight's bed, "So, what are you looking for in particular?"
"Not really, just information."
Tyber nodded, "Understandable, it was the worst thing that's happened to America in years."
Twilight sighed, "I just feel like I owe it to them to learn about this."
Tyber got up, "Alright."
"So you were only about six when it happened?"
Tyber nodded, "Yeah, but I didn't see footage of it happening until recently."
Twilight glanced back, "So who's this guy, Bin Laden?"
Tyber shook his head, "A terrorist leader, he was the leader of the Taliban, a Muslim terrorist group."
Twilight cocked his head, "Was? I take it he's dead?"
Tyber nodded, "Yeah, taken out by U.S. Navy S.E.A.L.'s earlier this year."
Twilight leaned back into his chair, "And the rest of the terrorist group?"
Tyber shook his head, "Still out there, we kill some, and more join."
Twilight was growing angry at this, "Why don't we just destroy them?"
Tyber shrugged, "I don't know, it's not my decision."
Twilight scowled, "Then whose is it?"
Tyber shrugged again, "I don't know, probably the President of the United States."
"Alright, fine." Twilight said while folding his arms.
"Twilight what are you thinking of doing, you're getting that look again." Tyber asked.
Twilight scoffed, "What do you think."
Tyber shook his head, "Don't take matters into your own hands."
Twilight scowled, "And why not?"
"Don't tarnish the memory of the dead by soiling your hands in the blood of revenge." Tyber responded.
Twilight sighed, "You're right, like normal. But still, I wish there was something I can do about it."
Tyber shrugged, "We're soldiers. So we keep doing what we're doing. That's all we can do."
Twilight smiled slightly and nodded, "Thanks, I needed that."
Tyber smiled back, "You're welcome, now that that's dealt with… I'm going to beat you in Sonic Adventure 2."
Twilight laughed, "In your dreams."
AN: In memory of those who died on September 11 2001, I write this. This is to remind people that although we've taken out Bin Laden, we still have a ways to go in dismantling the Taliban. And to remember that no matter what, we need to remember what happened. Not to create anger, but so that we won't be caught unprepared like that again, and to make sure that we don't tarnish their memory by either forgetting about what happened, or going too far.
