Annie's eyes opened as the constant sound of water falling from the sky surrounded her. She sat up slightly to look out of the window. The continued putter patter of water flew to the ground from the night sky. As she lay back down a flash of lighting streaked by, following by a deafening crash of thunder. For a moment she felt the old childhood fear she used to feel whenever there was a thunderstorm. Then she let out a small chuckle as the thunder buddy song from Ted (she was REALLY glad Troy and Abed had talked her into seeing that one) ran through her head. Now whenever she heard thunder she thought about that song and she felt better.

It also helped that she had her own thunder buddy right next to her.

She looked over at Jeff, who was still sound asleep. It amazed her that he could sleep through something like this. Just like he was always amazed that she could fall asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. It always took Jeff a while to fall asleep, though when he eventually did fall asleep he was dead to the world. While with her the slightest disturbance drew her out of dreamland. So in some way it all kind of evened out.

She snuggled closer to Jeff, feeling safe and secure next to him. As she rested her head on his chest she looked at his face. He always looked so relaxed and carefree when he was asleep. As if nothing in the world bothered him.

The rain outside continued to pour as strongly as it would in a tropical storm. It relaxed Annie with its constant metronome like beat. And even with the thunder she was no longer afraid. She was safe and sound in bed, next to her boyfriend. She yawned and quietly repeated the thunder song to herself before she closed her eyes and fell back to sleep.
