Fuli relates her day and how much she actually is protective of Bunga, even how much he gets on her nerves. Warning this has major spoilers for the episode "Fuli's New Family".
I own nothing, the Lion Guard and all its content belong to Disney. I don't own the cover image either.
Enjoy the story!
It was turning into night in the Pridelands as a weary cheetah made her way back to her den in the ground. It wasn't much, just a small burrow in the ground that was shaded by grass where she slept with her two other siblings. As she approached, she first peered in, incase her two younger siblings tried to use her as hunting practice. Nothing.
"They must be out with mom," she thought to herself. It was fine with her, it just meant she get at least some minutes of sleeping before the three of them came home and she was painfully awoken by their loud voices and constant poking and prodding.
As she lowered herself down and curled into a ball in one of the den's corner, her mind recalled all she had done today. Let's see, save the buffalo, worry about Bunga, threaten Bunga, go to a disgusting bug meal, save Bunga, try hunting get get invited to hunt with Ono, get disgusted at the bugs again, leave to try hunting again, get invited by Beshte, get wet and disgusted by the water, try hunting again, get invited by Kion and his family to go hunting, get disappointed by it...
The list went on, but as it did, it seemed that the three, most common things in the lists were getting disgusted/disappointed, getting invited to do things with her friends and saving Bunga.
She smirked at that last one. Two times today she saved him, all three incidents that happened to him actually worried her.
Her head came back up with the last statement. She was worried about him, three times today she had worried about him. Bunga, rude, impulsive, proud, immature, impulsive, annoying, careless, did she mention impulsive? Yet she had been worried about him.
She sighed as she rested her head again in her paws. Did this mean she was getting soft or that she just liked Bunga? I mean he was fun, even though it sometimes annoyed her to no end.
Her thoughts went earlier to what she had said. she said that the Guard was like her family. She guessed if Bunga was part of her family, he was the annoying younger brother that got on her nerves and she had to be the protective older sister to keep him in check. She actually smiled at the thought of it.
Feeling a wave a tiredness now, she closed her eyes, ready to see if she could get any sleep. She barely had her eyes closed for more than five seconds when suddenly she got the wind knocked out of her when one, no, two little cheetahs pounced and started hopping on her and yelling her name excitedly. She groaned.
And now her family was home. Swell.
I liked this episode, it's nice to see they're giving each of the Guard members some development over time. I like how they kept to some real life facts about cheetahs being loners, but gave it a sweet twist at the climax and end of the episode.
The only thing I really complain about is this. By the way, did anyone else really dislike Zuri in that episode for being just a bit insensitive to Fuli regarding the nature of the hunt?! I mean really, "Let the cheetah hunt for us". I mean I know in real life lions will chase away cheetahs from their kills, but that just blew me away that the Lion King could act like that. Sorry if I'm offending anyone here.
Thanks for reading this, please leave a review with some feedback and I'll see you again for another story next time. Sincerely, v.t.7
