This is my first Harvest Moon story so I don't know if I'm doing it right ha-ha. I don't own anything (well I do own a copy of a few Harvest moon games but you know what I mean.) Pretty please rate and review so I know if I should continue with the story, or if anyone's actually reading it ha-ha. Enjoy!

Woof! Woof! That was the noise that started every day for Rose. Annoying sometimes, but for the most part it comforted her to be awakened by her faithful pup, Caleb. Being a farmer, she had long since grown used to waking up early, although when she worked too hard she tended to over sleep.

That noise made her sit up in her cozy bed and yawn. She looked at Allie, her midnight black cat, who was looking at Caleb with distain. Caleb, on the other hand, looked cheerful and energetic as usual. Both animals had been very good considering the move they'd endured recently.

Rose had moved to Forget-Me-Not valley after a stream of bad luck had come her way. First, well she preferred not to even think about that, second her farm had been hit with the worst of a tornado and she'd lost pretty much everything. But she was managing here in her new home, she was good at just getting by, she thought to herself.

"Alright boy, I'm up. Relax." Rose smiled and got up off the bed; she took a glance at the calendar and stopped. She couldn't believe it. It was Thursday! How could she have forgotten? Rose ran to her mirror and looked herself over.

Her blonde hair was okay; she thanked the Harvest Goddess for that. Her blue eyes had lost all traces of sleepiness. She then realized that it didn't matter what she looked like because she didn't own any make-up. With a sigh she walked out of her house with Caleb trailing behind her and prepared herself to face the day.

Rose was feeling excited as she rode her horse into town that day. She decided to stop at the inn first to see if he was there. As the horse trotted up to the entrance she felt her heart beat faster. Rose dismounted and entered the inn.

And was then shocked out of her senses. Because standing next to the inn counter was Cliff.

Rose's confident stride stopped immediately as she looked at him. He noticed her immediately and for a moment their gazes locked. Cliff's deep eyes turned even sadder and lonelier than normal. Rose's heart was flooded with guilt as usual whenever she happened to run into him, which was every Saturday and apparently today. That was the reason she was so shocked, because Cliff was never in town on Thursdays, there was a reason for that, she thought sadly.

Rose offered Cliff a small comforting smile and he turned away. Mumbling something to Ruby, he walked back into the inn's kitchen. Rose knew that eventually she'd have to talk to him, mend things, but she couldn't today, it just wasn't the time. He most likely hated her for leaving Mineral town but she wished he'd understand that it was for his own good.

"Rose dear, do you need something?" Ruby asked cautiously from the counter, pulling Rose out of her own thoughts. "Oh yes, I know what you're here for" Ruby smiled fondly as Rose walked up to the counter. "I'm sorry but he already left." Rose's smile faltered.

"But he did mention that if you came here looking for him, he told me to tell you that he's at the usual place." Ruby smiled wryly.

"Oh! Thanks a bunch Ruby." Rose smiled back and with a nod, left the inn.
