Important break-throughs

"McKay! General O'Neill will kill you if you finish that sentence!" Shepherd cut him off before Rodney said something really stupid, but he stopped himself as well. John didn't want out Carter's secret; she didn't want Rodney to know. He knew Teyla knew, both women seemed to respect each other, and he though that Keller might know something as well but he couldn't be sure. Well Rodney, being Rodney hadn't seemed to notice anything.

"Yeah, either that or the Colonel will do it for him" Ronan laughed, "come on she could kill Rodney in her sleep, I've seen her fight."

The four of them were all sitting in the commissary, enjoying a late night snack, Ronon and Shepherd just having finished sparring.

Ronon, Teyla and John exchanged amused glances over the table. Rodney finally got the hint that they were all mocking him and got up.

"Fine, I think I'll go and talk to her."

Teyla glanced at his retreating back before turning back to her team-mates, "How can he not know she's married?"

"Ahh come on this is McKay, he sees what he wants to see."

Rodney sauntered through the corridors of Atlantis until he came to Carter's quarters, where he knocked. When the door opened the person standing there looked as surprised to find Rodney standing there as Rodney was.

"General O'Neill!" because it was the General; Looking for all the world as though he was about to go to bed. After about a minute of McKay just staring at him, Jack was beginning to get annoyed.

"What McKay?"

"Um, er, I, came to see Carter."

"Well yeah, McKay these are her quarters, I got that point, was there a message?"

"What's wrong Jack?" Sam asked, coming up behind Jack to see what was going on at her door this late. Jack's arm automatically wrapped round her waist as she came up.

"Rodney! Is there something wrong?"

"Um, no, no, everything's fine, Great! I'm, um, need to go, important break-throughs and all that, um, bye."

"You know that guy just gets weirder each time I meet him!" Jack mused as they watched Rodney's hasty retreat
