So, it doesn't make sense to me that the mayor's day action is REVEALING himself as the mayor since the people of the town should already know who their mayor is. After some thinking about it, this was the sort of scenario that made the most sense to me as to why the town's people wouldn't know who their mayor was. Hope you guys enjoy this short fic!
I don't own Town of Salem.

James Russel, a former night watchman, stared thoughtfully at the ballot in his hands, unsure of who to choose. The citizens of Salem were voting for their mayor and, while there were only two candidates, the decision was still very important for the town. There was Edward Bishop, an older man and a natural leader who had held other minor leadership positions and owned his own business, and Thomas Danforth, a charismatic younger man who was hoping to force crime out of their town for good. The people of Salem had extensively discussed who to elect and the opinions of the town were thoroughly divided.
The lookout knew that Bishop would probably be the best choice for the position due to his experience, but something about the man seemed... Off. More than once, James had seen him leave his house in the dead of the night to head god knew where. He was also frequently visited by Jonathan Corwin, Alice Young, Samuel Sewall, and, occasionally, Giles Corey. It was suspicious, to say the least. Thomas, on the other hand, was a clean slate, free of suspicion.
Squeezing his eyes shut, James marked the box next to Thomas' name. He truly hoped that he had made the right decision...
Everything in town went to hell before he could find out.
Since most of the roles mentioned in this fic weren't obvious they were Thomas Danforth, the Mayor; James Russel, the Lookout; Edward Bishop, the Godfather; Jonathan Corwin, the Consigliere; Alice Young, the Consort; Giles Corey, the Janitor; and Samuel Sewall, the Mafioso.
