A beautiful life

Chapter One: Meeting

Gaara had never seen a man that beautiful before. He had long reddish brown hair that was tied back in a braid and sparkling baby blue eyes. He also had a slightly feminine curve to his body which made Gaara wonder if he was really a guy. But he had to be, because this was an all guy's school. He was sitting with another feminine looking guy with long brown hair done up in a bun and brown eyes. They were laughing over something he couldn't hear and Gaara vaguely wondered why he was sitting by himself. Then his reason caught up with his senses and he said to himself,

"You're alone...get used to it...no one wants you...get over it."

"That's the first sign of a crazy person, talking to yourself."

He looked up to glare daggers at the person who dare to intrude on his thoughts and saw that it was the beautiful man he had just been ogling. He was wearing a fishnet long-sleeve shirt covered with a black sleeveless hooded t-shirt on his upper half, and long form fitting denim pants that hung off his hips slightly. He also wore red and black Reebok sneakers and had a chain on his left hip. His hands were in the connecting pocket of his hoodie (I think that's what it's called...gomen.) and his head was cocked to the side.

"Are you...okay? Mentally I mean?" he asked.

Gaara raised a non-existent bron at the question and shook his head.

"I haven't been okay mentally for about 12 years," he replied.

The boy looked over his shoulder and called to the other boy.

"Haku! Come here!"

The other boy looked up from a sheet of paper and came over.

"Nani?"
The boy looked at Haku and said,

"I believe he's a worthy candidate."

Haku raised an eyebrow and looked Gaara over. His eyes lingered on his untidy red hair and his too big t-shirt, then he smiled.

"Yes, I do believe you're right."

They both sat down on either side of the red-head and Gaara just looked at them, confused.

"I still don't know who you are..." he said.

Haku looked at the other boy and said,

"Well, my name is Haku...and that is my twin brother Kohaku."

Gaara looked from one to the other and leaned back in his chair. Haku read his look and said,

"Our father wasn't great with names...but enough about us...what's your name?"
The red-head paused fo a minute, then said,

"Gaara."

Kohaku leaned forward and examined the 'ai' tattoo on his forehead. He traced it with his index finger and Gaara felt himself becoming sleepy. Kohaku pulled his hand away and Gaara's head snapped up.

"Did that hurt?"

Gaara shook his head. He still remembered the day he got this tattoo. He was surprisingly young, only 15 or so. Haku looked around at his brother and said,

"Shall we tell him?"
Kohaku nodded and explained,

"Gaara, we're forming a club for the downtrodden and mentally unhealthy..."

Gaara nodded before the statement really sunk in. Kohaku seemed to realize this and waited a few seconds for it to really seep in.
