At midmorning Katherine arrived at the village. She stopped abruptly on the old road by an rotting, obscure shack. She was a pale delicate looking young girl of near average height. Her eyes were calculative, enchanting pea green and hair was raven black and long, curling at the ends like Medusa' s serpents. Katherine brushed off the dust on her blue dress carelessly with the other hand clutching a black leather knapsack. She then dropped the bag, folded her arms and tapped her right foot to a steady beat. She waited squinting for any signs of him as the sun grew higher. Her eyebrows furrowed in as she deliberated with herself. A few moments later Katherine picked up the bag gingerly and walked slightly off the road. Sat down under a pitiful looking remains of a tree. She opened the knapsack and pulled out an old brown leather covered textbook and began reading. Every so often the green eyes broke away from the pages and peered over the book waiting for him to exit the shack. Katherine's reverie was disrupted by a bang and the sound of someone's yell. A moment later she looked up to see him - a tall pale dark haired boy exit the shack at a brisk pace. She bolted from where she sat and she quickened her pace to catch up with him. He slowed slightly till she caught up and held her hand. Katherine could tell he was in a foul mood but she didn't flinch when she saw the murderous look on his handsome face. She looked at him with a look of worry, disgust, and love. It was not proper for a girl to voice her opinions to a man in this case a boy. Guilt constricted her, one faultless being gone forever because of her weak resolve to stop him. Perhaps two now.
