Beth's Christmas Fic

Waking up on Christmas Day, I felt a cold presence in the bed space next to mine, or rather, a lack of a presence. I yawned lazily, stretched my arms and proceeded to curl up into the warmth of the blankets and pillows surrounding me, trying to catch up on some more sleep before getting up. After minutes of restless tossing and turning, I threw my covers and blankets aside and stood up in order to walk downstairs. It was still early in the morning, no later than 8am by the guess of it. The grey skies were highlighting the thin layer of snow lying on the ground outside as the snow continuously descended onto the ground.

Slowly making my way downstairs, I was met with a sweet smell of turkey that was most likely on its way to be roasted and prepared for later. Walking downstairs in order to resolve the puzzle of why there was an empty bed space next to me when I woke up, I turned into the living room only to be met with the most wonderful sight. He was sitting cross-legged near the Christmas tree, in light blue pyjama bottoms and a grey t-shirt, re-arranging and adding on a couple more presents onto the neat pile underneath the silver and blue Christmas tree. His short, curly brown hair was messed up, clearly having woken up too. When he heard me walking up behind him, Benedict turned around and flashed his ever heart-warming smile at me and I swore I was in heaven. He stood up and cradled me into a hug, but picking me up enthusiastically a moment after as the height difference sometimes was a pain in the arse.

Between morning tea and coffee, opening presents and food, I began to drift off as I lay on the sofa with my head on Ben's lap as he gently combed my hair with his fingers, while humming along to some cheesy Christmas song that was playing on the telly. I smiled and looked up at him. He was still engrossed with the television, but his hair caressing hasn't stopped once, like it was his second nature. Once he noticed me looking at him, he smiled softly and pressed a kiss on my forehead as if to tell me to sleep. Which I did. When I woke up couple of hours later, I was wrapped up in Ben's secure hold as somehow, we managed to shift ourselves in our sleep. I was curled up into his chest as he protectively wrapped his arms around my smaller frame. I sighed contently and gave into his warmth, listening to his steady heartbeat. Benedict started murmuring quietly in his sleep again, to which I tried to hide my smile but failed miserably. It was the most adorable thing in the world to say the least and definitely one of my favourite little habits that Ben had, which I discovered over the period of the first couple of months that we lived together. "This is the best Christmas so far" I thought as I slowly drifted back into unconsciousness as I listened to Benedict's almost inaudible murmurs and the patter of snow outside.

NOTES:

So this was not written by me! It was written by my best mate Paulina for me for Christmas but it was late lol ^^

So anyway this is basically Benedict/Me or Benedict/Reader if you want to add yourself in to it. The height difference is a thing between me and Paulina (I'm extremely short) and she finds it amusing XD Anyway, reviews and favourites are loved!

Enjoy the Show.
