Hooded and cloaked the dark lord made his way up the snow covered street towards the house of the Longbottoms.
Inside his head a celebration was going on; he was about to eliminate potentially the last person alive that could eventually stop him-that is if you don't count Dumbledore, and he made it a habit not to.
After two minutes of swift walking he came to the gate and opened it...
Inside the cozy house in Godric's hollow sat Alice and Frank Longbottom watching their son Neville trying to play with (and eat) his stuffed bear all at once.
Both of his parents were rolling on the floor laughing until they herd swift footsteps coming up the street, stopping at their home and opening the gate. Frank Longbottom leaped up, grabbing his wand as he went.
A quick glance out the window revealed that his worst fear was coming to pass-Voldemort was at their doorstep, meaning that the Fideilus charm failed and their secret keeper had turned them in.
"Alice! Alice it's him! Stay in here and I'll fight him off!" he yelled. Alice had serious objections to this plan but before she could put them into words there was a loud CRACK! and Frank Longbottom, auror and member of the Order of the Phoenix had gone to duel with Lord Voldemort, the most dangerous and notorious dark wizard of his time.
Just as the Dark Lord was about to blast open the door there was a loud CRACK! and Frank Longbottom appeared before him, with a look of utmost fear mingled with fury upon his face.
'He already has his wand raised,' the Dark Lord noted with a note of disappointment. This would mean that there would be no time for banter between the two of them. This all occurred in an instant before the real fight started.
'Stupe-' Longbottom attempted to stun the Dark Lord, but before he could get the words out the Dark Lord slashed the air with his wand and his wand clattered to the ground.
After being disarmed and much to Lord Voldemort's surprise Frank Longbottom did not face hihs death like a man but launched himself at Lord Voldemort's face, scratching and punching.
It goes without saying that he was dead before he could get a good blow in.
Inside the house Alice Longbottom wept in grief for nearly five seconds before the door crashed open. A man walked in swiftly as Alice Longbottom, drowning in panic smashed a window with her wand and crawled through leaving her son to die.
