The Love & Madness of Faust
A story by Malik-sama

Malik-sama: Yes! My first fan fiction! After being a long-time reviewer, I thought I should finally step in and create my own story for once. I've decided to start out with a story about Faust VIII, for he is one of the most interesting characters I've ever seen in an anime, and would like to make an interpretation of how Faust was driven to madness. (Also, this story will be told from his point of view.) What else....*looks at the glaring eyes from Malik* O_O; ...oh, yeah. Sorry for not making my first story about Malik, my favorite character from the original Yu-Gi-Oh, for I honestly don't know what to write about him......please don't kill me, Malik. So here is my master-piece, "The Love and Madness of Faust VIII".....
(Disclaimer: I do not own Shaman King)

Chapter 1: Awakening
I found myself walking through a damp mist that stank of death. Though I was walking, I had no idea where I was taking myself to. Then I heard a scream. The scream sounded like that of Eliza's, so I walked faster, which soon grew into a run. Blindly through this mist I was running until I came across a large mass of tangled thorns. Again I heard Eliza, who was pleading to whoever was there this time, so I tried to break through this barrier, but the effort was futile. Suddenly, I heard a gunshot. And then another. This time, I forced my way through harder, not caring about the cuts and scrapes I got on my body, to get to my wife. When I made it through, I looked into the open area and stared in silence. My dog and beautiful Eliza were dead.
"ELIZA! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
I suddenly woke up in bed, with the sheets scattered about. It was just a dream... just a dream, I thought to myself. But yet the dream seemed so real. This same nightmare has been going on for 13 days now, and I would just shiver whenever I thought about it.
No such thing could happen to Eliza...it's not possible. We'll die old and grey, together, as all couples should, I reminded myself.
Then I glanced at my bedside. As she would do once a week, Eliza would stay late at night at the clinic to catch up on some late work of hers, even though I would insist her not to. She said that it was alright; that I needn't worry about her. Pretty soon, I gave up, but in making sure Eliza wouldn't be alone, I made her bring our dog, Frankie, with her. But they should've come home by now, for it is 5:00 already. Sighing, I put on my clothes on and went outside, quietly locking the house up. Before I could get into my convertible, I heard a squawk. I rapidly turned around saw a raven on the tree top. That stupid bird came each day for the past two weeks now, squawking at me like the idiot it was. Ignoring it, I went in the convertible and sped off towards the clinic, unaware of the bird following me....
End of Chapter 1
Malik-sama: Sorry about the chapter being short, I'm just really lazy. I'm very slow with writing stories. Don't worry; I'll try to make the chapter longer next time. Until then, bye!
